Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) uses more than 2.4 million Emission Line Galaxies (ELGs) for 3D large-scale structure (LSS) analyses in its Data Release 1 (DR1). Such large statistics enable thorough research on systematic uncertainties. In thi ...

Measuring the distance to stars in relation to us is fundamental for understanding the universe we live in, however, it is also one of the most challenging tasks in astronomy. Accurately estimating distances would allow us to understand the distribution of ...

We identified a sample of 88 bona fide Population II Cepheids (henceforth referred to as Cepheids) and 44 candidates in Galactic globular clusters (GCs). Seventy-eight of the Cepheids in the sample align within 2 sigma of the period-luminosity relation for ...

This dissertation traces the evolution of cosmology from its foundational theories to the forefront of modern observational studies, with a particular focus on the role of large-scale structure (LSS) probes. It begins with the establishment of General Rela ...

We used the spectro-photometric information of similar to 219 million stars from Gaia's Data Release 3 (DR3) to calculate synthetic, narrowband, metallicity-sensitive CaHK magnitudes that mimic the observations of the Pristine survey, a survey of photometr ...

The Euclid mission, designed to map the geometry of the dark Universe, presents an unprecedented opportunity for advancing our understanding of the cosmos through its photometric galaxy cluster survey. Central to this endeavor is the accurate calibration o ...

We present the proof of concept of a method for finding strongly lensed quasars using their spatially extended photometric variability through difference imaging in cadenced imaging survey data. We applied the method to Pan-STARRS, starting with an initial ...

The massive galaxy cluster El Gordo (z = 0.87) imprints multitudes of gravitationally lensed arcs onto James Webb Space Telescope Near-Infrared Camera (NIRCam) images. Eight bands of NIRCam imaging were obtained in the "Prime Extragalactic Areas for Reioni ...

Euclid's photometric galaxy cluster survey has the potential to be a very competitive cosmological probe. The main cosmological probe with observations of clusters is their number count, within which the halo mass function (HMF) is a key theoretical quanti ...

Gaia EDR3 has provided unprecedented data that has generated a great deal of interest in the astrophysical community, even though systematics affect the reported parallaxes at the level of similar to 10 mu as. Independent distance measurements are availabl ...

We investigate the role of environment on star formation rates (SFRs) of galaxies at various cosmic densities in well-studied clusters. We present the star-forming main sequence for 163 galaxies in four EDisCS clusters in the range 0.4 < z < 0.7. We use Hu ...

We present a new infrared survey covering the three Euclid deep fields and four other Euclid calibration fields using Spitzer Space Telescope's Infrared Array Camera (IRAC). We combined these new observations with all relevant IRAC archival data of these f ...

Deep learning (DL) has shown remarkable results in solving inverse problems in various domains. In particular, the Tikhonet approach is very powerful in deconvolving optical astronomical images. However, this approach only uses the l(2) loss, which does no ...

We describe here the most ambitious survey currently planned in the optical, the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST). The LSST design is driven by four main science themes: probing dark energy and dark matter, taking an inventory of the solar system, ex ...

The present paper focuses on the simulation of the expansion and aspherical collapse of a laser-generated bubble subjected to an acceleration field and comparison of the results with instances from high-speed videos. The interaction of the liquid and gas i ...

We derive constraints on the parameters of the radiatively decaying dark matter (DM) particle, using the XMM-Newton EPIC spectra of the Andromeda galaxy (M31). Using the observations of the outer (5-13 arcmin) parts of M31, we improve the existing constrai ...
