In the recent years, laser powder bed fusion of aluminum alloys has attracted extensive attention due to their capacious application in the biomedical, aerospace, and other industrial sectors. This is due to the combined capabilities of the laser powder be ...

This thesis reports on the study and use of low temperature processes for the deposition of indium gallium nitride (InGaN) thin films in order to alleviate some of the present drawbacks of its monolitic deposition on silicon for photovoltaic applications. ...

Gas diffusion electrodes are essential components of common fuel and electrolysis cells but are typically made from graphitic carbon or metallic materials, which do not allow light transmittance and thus limit the development of gas-phase based photoelectr ...

Thermal vacuum deposition is a stimulating technique for upscaling perovskite solar cells. However, the operational complexity of multisource vapor deposition (MSVD) and achieving stoichiometric perovskite layers may impede its implementation. The single-s ...

Solar-driven carbon dioxide reduction has witnessed a renaissance in the past decades, but the system suffers from low reaction rates. Here the authors develop a copper/tin-oxide electrocatalyst, achieving a new benchmark solar-to-CO energy conversion effi ...

The work demonstrated in this thesis represent the path towards developing the large-scale fabrication of two-dimensional nanoporous membrane devices and use thereof as platforms to study nanoscale physics of water and ion flow through confined channels. M ...

A new and promising technology has emerged to compete with traditional silicon photovoltaic semiconductors. The low material and processing costs and high-power conversion efficiencies of organic-inorganic metal halide perovskites make these a promising te ...

The effectiveness of submerged synthetic aquatic vegetation on removal of colloids from flowing water was investigated to explore retention of particulate nonpoint source pollutants in aquatic systems. In colloid transport experiments, the deposition rate ...

The electrodeposition (ED) of stainless steel (SS) -like FeCrNi alloys for miniaturised devices is appealing for bio-medicine as it would allow combining excellent material properties (e.g. corrosion resistance, hardness, bio-compatibility) at low-cost. Ho ...
