A BLAC Motor Drive for EPS System Application

Résumé

EPS systems are more and more used in automotive application to save energy and create a more flexible tool for driver. A BLAC motor has been designed in the Prof. Shen's Laboratory and has a very sinusoidal waveform. In order to avoid the detent torque, a sinusoidal voltage supply has to be provided to the so-called Brushless AC motor (BLAC). The aim of the project is to analyze the possibility to realize this driver and to realize the controller. Control theory and current measurements will have to be carefully analyzed and compared.

Electric motor

An electric motor is an electrical machine that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. Most electric motors operate through the interaction between the motor's magnetic field and electric current in a wire winding to generate force in the form of torque applied on the motor's shaft. An electric generator is mechanically identical to an electric motor, but operates with a reversed flow of power, converting mechanical energy into electrical energy.

Moteur sans balais

Un moteur sans balais, ou « moteur brushless », ou machine synchrone auto-pilotée à aimants permanents, est une machine électrique de la catégorie des machines synchrones, dont le rotor est constitué d'un ou de plusieurs aimants permanents et pourvu d'origine d'un capteur de position rotorique : capteur à effet Hall, synchro-résolver, codeur rotatif (par exemple codeur incrémental), ou tout autre système permettant l'auto-pilotage de la machine. Vu de l'extérieur, il fonctionne en courant continu.

Moteur pas à pas

Un moteur pas à pas permet de transformer une impulsion électrique en un mouvement angulaire. On trouve trois types de moteurs pas à pas : le moteur à réluctance variable ; le moteur à aimants permanents ; le moteur hybride, qui est une combinaison des deux technologies précédentes. Le moteur pas à pas fut inventé en 1936 par Marius Lavet, un ingénieur français des Arts et Métiers, pour l'industrie horlogère.
