Diode effects are of great interest for both fundamental physics and modern technologies. Electrical diode effects (nonreciprocal transport) have been observed in Weyl systems. Optical diode effects arising from the Weyl fermions have been theoretically co ...

Topological Weyl semimetals represent a novel class of nontrivial materials, where band crossings with linear dispersions take place at generic momenta across reciprocal space. These crossings give rise to low -energy properties akin to those of Weyl fermi ...

In the rapidly expanding field of topological materials there is growing interest in systems whose topological electronic band features can be induced or controlled by magnetism. Magnetic Weyl semimetals, which contain linear band crossings near the Fermi ...

Me3+8Ge, being a Weyl semimetal, shows a large anomalous Hall effect (AHE), which decreases slowly with an increase in 8 from 0.1 to 0.4. However, AHE in this compound remains significantly large in the whole range of 8 because of the robust nature of the ...

Topological semimetals are frequently discussed as materials platforms for future electronics that exploit the remarkable properties of their quasiparticles. These ideas are mostly based on dispersion relations that mimic relativistic particles, such as We ...

TaAs is a prime example of a topological semimetal with two types of Weyl nodes, W-1 and W-2, whose bulk signatures have proven elusive. We apply Landau level spectroscopy to crystals with multiple facets and identify-among other low-energy excitations bet ...

Constrained by the Nielsen-Ninomiya no-go theorem, in all so-far experimentally determined Weyl semimetals (WSMs) the Weyl points (WPs) always appear in pairs in the momentum space with no exception. As a consequence, Fermi arcs occur on surfaces which con ...

Weyl semimetals such as the TaAs family (TaAs, TaP, NbAs, NbP) host quasiparticle excitations resemblingthe long-sought-after Weyl fermions at special band-crossing points in the band structure denoted as Weylnodes. They are predicted to exhibit a negative ...

Magnetic Weyl semimetals are a newly discovered class of topological materials that may serve as a platform for exotic phenomena, such as axion insulators or the quantum anomalous Hall effect. Here, we use angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy and ab i ...

By means of ab initio band structure methods and model Hamiltonians we investigate the electronic, spin and topological properties of four monopnictides crystallizing in bct structure. We show that the Weyl bands around a WP W1 or W2 possess a strong aniso ...

Trigonal tellurium, a small-gap semiconductor with pronounced magneto-electric and magneto-optical responses, is among the simplest realizations of a chiral crystal. We have studied by spin- and angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy its unconventional ...

Depending on the geometry of their Fermi surfaces, Weyl semimetals and their analogs in classical systems have been classified into two types. In type-I Weyl semimetals (WSMs), the conelike spectrum at the Weyl point is not tilted, leading to a pointlike c ...

Weyl points in three-dimensional systems with certain symmetry carry non-Abelian topological charges, which can be transformed via non-trivial phase factors that arise upon braiding these points inside the reciprocal space. ...

Scalar waves such as airborne sound lack an intrinsic spin degree of freedom, making the realization of sonic Z2 topological phases based on spin degeneracy challenging. Here, we demonstrate the relevance of synthetic dimensions and higher-dimensional topo ...

The topological classification of matter has been extended to include semimetallic phases characterized by the presence of topologically protected band degeneracies. In Weyl semimetals, the foundational gapless topological phase, chiral degeneracies are is ...

Symmetry and topology are fundamental properties of nature. Mathematics provides us with a general framework to understand these concepts. On one side, symmetry describes the invariance properties of an object for specific transformations. On the other sid ...

SHiP is a proposed high-intensity beam dump experiment set to operate at the CERN SPS. It is expected to have an unprecedented sensitivity to a variety of models containing feebly interacting particles, such as Heavy Neutral Leptons (HNLs). Two HNLs or mor ...

Parity-time symmetry plays an essential role for the formation of Dirac states in Dirac semimetals. So far, all of the experimentally identified topologically nontrivial Dirac semimetals (DSMs) possess both parity and time reversal symmetry. The realizatio ...

Spectroscopic detection of Dirac and Weyl fermions in real materials is vital for both, promising applications and fundamental bridge between high-energy and condensed-matter physics. While the presence of Dirac and noncentrosymmetric Weyl fermions is well ...

Weyl fermions as emergent quasiparticles can arise in Weyl semimetals (WSMs) in which the energy bands are nondegenerate, resulting from inversion or time-reversal symmetry breaking. Nevertheless, experimental evidence for magnetically induced WSMs is scar ...
