The development of new solid-state electrolytes is a key step in improving the performance and safety of battery technology. Although the use of first-principle methods has proved invaluable in better understanding the process at play in these materials, ...

The identification and reconstruction of axonal pathways in the living brain or “ex-vivo” is promising a revolution in connectivity studies bridging the gap from animal to human neuroanatomy with extensions to brain structural–functional correlates. Unfort ...

In this work, we propose a novel Cycle In Cycle Generative Adversarial Network (C2GAN) for the task of keypoint-guided image generation. The proposed C2GAN is a cross-modal framework exploring a joint exploitation of the keypoint and the image data in an i ...

The present work is performed within the framework of the EUROfusion DEMO project. Previously, it was demonstrated that for a maintained magnetic flux the use of HTS conductors at highest magnetic field in a layer-wound CS coil would allow the reduction of ...

This paper presents two scenarios used for generation of a runaway electron (RE) beam in the COMPASS tokamak with a focus on the decay phase and control of the beam. The first scenario consists of massive gas injection of argon into the current ramp-up pha ...

In sustainability research, transdisciplinary (TD) approaches that involve practitioners in the research process have emerged as promising tools for enhancing real-world knowledge and engendering societal change. However, empirical insights into how such p ...

Adaptive evolution in new or changing environments can be difficult to predict because the functional connections between genotype, phenotype, and fitness are complex. Here, we make these explicit connections by combining field and laboratory experiments i ...

Interactive optimization methods are particularly suited for letting human decision makers learn about a problem, while a computer learns about their preferences to generate relevant solutions. For interactive optimization methods to be adopted in practice ...
