Safe and optimal deployment of data-streaming applications on many-core platforms requires the realistic estimation of task Worst-Case Execution Time (WCET). On the other hand, task WCET depends on the deployment solution, due to the varying number of inte ...

Scaled microelectromechanical (MEMS) resonating devices have generated a great interest for their use in RF front-end architectures for wireless communication, channel-select filters, on-chip signal processing and timing and extreme mas sensing application ...

The use of acoustic liners in aviation industry is a quite common solution for reducing the engines acoustic emissions. Although the current solutions based on single or multilayer liners are efficient and compact for the mid and high frequencies, noise mi ...

Over the last decades, several technological revolutions have impacted the television industry, such as the shifts from black & white to color and from standard to high-definition. Nevertheless, further considerable improvements can still be achieved to pr ...

Processing data streams is increasingly gaining momentum, given the need to process these flows of information in real-time and at Web scale. In this context, RDF Stream Processing (RSP) and Stream Reasoning (SR) have emerged as solutions to combine semant ...

The control of upper limb neuroprostheses through the peripheral nervous system (PNS) can allow restoring motor functions in amputees. At present, the important aspect of the realtime implementation of neural decoding algorithms on embedded systems has bee ...

Implementation of high performance multi-camera / multi-sensor imaging systems that are required to produce real-time video output pose a large number of unique challenges to conventional digital design based on general-purpose processors or GPUs. In poten ...

This thesis addresses the problem of recovering the 3-D shape of a deformable object in single images, or image sequences acquired by a monocular video camera, given that a 3-D template shape and a template image of the object are available. While being a ...

Time series forecasting for streaming data plays an important role in many real applications, ranging from IoT systems, cyber-networks, to industrial systems and healthcare. However the real data is often complicated with anomalies and change points, which ...

Efficient, real-time and automated data analysis is one of the key elements for achieving scientific success in complex engineering and physical systems, of which two examples are the JET and ITER tokamaks. One problem which is common to these fields is th ...
