SurfaceA surface, as the term is most generally used, is the outermost or uppermost layer of a physical object or space. It is the portion or region of the object that can first be perceived by an observer using the senses of sight and touch, and is the portion with which other materials first interact. The surface of an object is more than "a mere geometric solid", but is "filled with, spread over by, or suffused with perceivable qualities such as color and warmth".
Encelade (lune)Encelade () est un satellite naturel de Saturne, découvert par William Herschel en 1789. Il s'agit du sixième satellite de Saturne par la taille et du quatorzième par son éloignement. Depuis la mission Voyager 2, et surtout la mission Cassini-Huygens, arrivée en orbite saturnienne en 2004, Encelade est réputé pour posséder plusieurs caractéristiques étonnantes, dont une géologie très complexe jusque-là insoupçonnée, et une activité qui reste toujours actuellement difficile à expliquer, pour un corps de si petite taille ( de diamètre en moyenne).
