The detection of low-surface-brightness galaxies beyond the Local Group poses significant observational challenges, yet these faint systems are fundamental to our understanding of dark matter, hierarchical galaxy formation, and cosmic structure. Their abun ...

Using (2712.4±14.3)×106 ψ(3686) events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, the decay ηc→γγ in J/ψ→γηc is observed. We determine the product branching fraction B(J/ψ→γηc)×B(ηc→γγ)=(5.23±0.26stat±0.30syst)×10-6. This result is consiste ...

In this work, we test the frequent assumption that Ly alpha-emitting galaxies (LAEs) are experiencing their first major burst of star formation at the time of observation. To this end, we identify 74 LAEs from the ODIN Survey with rest-UV-through-NIR photo ...

Scintillating fibre detectors combine sub-mm resolution particle tracking, precise measurements of the particle stopping power and sub-ns time resolution. Typically, fibres are read out with silicon photomultipliers (SiPM). Hence, if fibres with a few hund ...

IceCube Collaboration has previously reported evidence for a neutrino signal from a Seyfert galaxy NGC 1068. This may suggest that all Seyfert galaxies emit neutrinos. To test this hypothesis, we identify the best candidate neutrino sources among nearby Se ...

The polarization of tau leptons is measured using leptonic and hadronic tau lepton decays in Z -> tau(+)tau(-) events in proton-proton collisions at root s = 13 TeV recorded by CMS at the CERN LHC with an integrated luminosity of 36.3 fb(-1). The measured ...

A comprehensive study of the angular distributions in the bottom-baryon decays (Formula presented), followed by (Formula presented) with (Formula presented) or (Formula presented) decays, is performed using a data sample of proton-proton collisions corresp ...

A large variety of new physics models suggest that the rates for lepton flavour violating

-hadron decays may be much higher than predicted in the Standard Model, which leads to a high interest in the search for such decays. This thesis presents the se ...

Delayed 'pair-echo' signal from interactions of very-high-energy gamma rays in the intergalactic medium can be used for the detection of the intergalactic magnetic field (IGMF). We used the data of the Fermi/LAT telescope coupled with LHAASO observatory me ...

Particle accelerators are the drivers for large-scale research infrastructures for particle physics but also for many branches of condensed matter research. The types of accelerator-driven research infrastructures include particle colliders, neutron, muon ...

Accurate simulation of vibrationally resolved electronic (or vibronic) spectra requires not only an accurate evaluation of electronic structure but also a quantum mechanical treatment of nuclear motion. Solving the time-dependent Schrödinger equation (TDSE ...

A search for dark matter in events with a displaced nonresonant muon pair and missing transverse momentum is presented. The analysis is performed using an integrated luminosity of 138 fb-1 of protonproton (pp) collision data at a center -of -mass energy of ...

The upcoming Square Kilometre Array Observatory will produce images of neutral hydrogen distribution during the epoch of reionization by observing the corresponding 21-cm signal. However, the 21-cm signal will be subject to instrumental limitations such as ...

I describe the sterile neutrino dark matter candidate and discuss how it may fit into the overall picture of physics beyond the Standard Model. ...

A sample of 3984 candidates of the K+ -> pi(+)gamma gamma decay, with an estimated background of 291 +/- 14 events, was collected by the NA62 experiment at CERN during 2017-2018. In order to describe the observed di-photon mass spectrum, the next-to-leadin ...

We report on the mountain top observation of three terrestrial gamma-ray flashes (TGFs) that occurred during the summer storm season of 2021. To our knowledge, these are the first TGFs observed in a mountaintop environment and the first published European ...

We analyze and compare the satellite halo populations at z similar to 2 in the high-resolution cosmological zoom-in simulations of a 1012 M circle dot target halo (z = 0 mass) carried out on eight widely used astrophysical simulation codes (Art-I, Enzo, Ra ...

A search is presented for new Higgs bosons in proton-proton (pp) collision events in which a same-sign top quark pair is produced in association with a jet, via the pp -> tH/ A -> tt (c) over bar and pp -> tH/ A -> tt

We present the first comprehensive halo occupation distribution (HOD) analysis of the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) One-Percent Survey luminous red galaxy (LRG) and Quasi Stellar Object (QSO) samples. We constrain the HOD of each sample and t ...

Gamma-ray spectroscopy is an effective technique for radioactive material characterization, routine inventory verification, nuclear safeguards, health physics, and source search scenarios. Gamma-ray spectrometers typically cannot be operated in the immedia ...
