Following the 3rd release of the "Emerging PV reports", the best achievements in the performance of emerging photovoltaic (e-PV) devices in diverse e-PV research subjects are summarized, as reported in peer-reviewed articles in academic journals since Augu ...

The organic small molecule 4,4',4",4"'-(5,5-dimethoxycyclopenta-1,3-diene-1,2,3,4-tetrayl)tetrakis(N,N-bis(4-methoxyhenyl)aniline (CPDA 1), shows electrochemical properties very close to spiro-OMeTAD indicating a high compatibility with PSC systems for its ...

In few years, perovskite solar devices have reached high efficiency on lab scale cells. Upscaling to module size, effective perovskite recipe and posttreatment are of paramount importance to the breakthrough of the technology. Herein this work, the develop ...

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) fabricated with two-dimensional (2D) halide and 2D-3D mixed-halide materials are remarkable for their optoelectronic properties. The 2D perovskite structures are extremely stable but show limited charge transport and large ban ...

Three hole-transporting materials (HTMs) were prepared following a straightforward synthetic route by cross-linking arylamine-based ligands with a simple thieno[3,2-b]thiophene (TbT) core. The novel HTMs were fully characterized with standard techniques to ...

Metal-organic framework (MOFs) and related nanoporous materials have emerged as promising candidates for a variety of applications, such as gas separation and storage, catalysis, sensing, etc. Their building block structure allows us to generate a huge num ...

In this account, we discuss the common molecular features and the related chemistry concepts across several different areas of organic electronics, including molecular semiconductors and single-molecule junctions. Despite seemingly diverse charge transport ...

The formation of photoexcited states in organic semiconductors, their separation into long-lived or stable charge carriers, as well as the charge transport are critical processes relevant to several important research fields and emerging technologies. Whil ...

In this study we report the application of three cobalt redox shuttles in 100% aqueous electrolyte dyesensitised solar cells (DSCs). By using chloride as a counter-ion for cobalt bipyridine, cobalt phenanthroline and cobalt bipyridine pyrazole, the redox s ...

Uniform adhesive TiO2–ZrO2 films co-sputtered on polyester (PES) under low intensity sunlight irradiation discolored methylene blue (MB) within 120 min. The discoloration kinetics was seen to be accelerated by a factor four by TiO2–ZrO2–Cu containing ∼0.01 ...

A solution processable, molecular organic semiconductor, 6,13-bis(triisopropylsilylethynyl) pentacene (TIPS-pentacene), was employed as hole transport material (HTM) in mesoscopic methylammonium lead iodide perovskite solar cells. TIPS-pentacene is potenti ...

Solar cells based on organometallic halide perovskite absorber layers are emerging as a high-performance photovoltaic technology. Using highly sensitive photothermal deflection and photocurrent spectroscopy, we measure the absorption spectrum of CH3NH3PbI3 ...

Six new donor-pi spacer-acceptor (D-pi-A) organic sensitizers based on the 2-quinolinone moiety as acceptor and anchoring groups were synthesized and tested for their performance in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). The systematic tuning of acceptor stre ...

The energy efficiency of production processes for components of solar energy systems is an important issue. Other factors, which are important for the production of black selective solar coatings include production speed, cycle time and homogeneity of the ...

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dye to become a constituting material of a dye-sensitized solar cell having a high conversion efficiency and excelling in the durability. SOLUTION: The dye is represented by formula (1): ML1L2L3 ...
