Artificial metalloenzymes (ArMs) combine the broad reactivity of transition metals with the exquisite selectivity of enzymes, expanding the scope of biocatalysis beyond natural enzymatic functions. The biotin-streptavidin (Sav) system offers a versatile sc ...

Curcuminoids and their complexes continue to attract attention in medicinal chemistry, but little attention has been given to their metabolic derivatives. Here, the first examples of (arene)Ru(II) complexes with curcuminoid metabolites, tetrahydrocurcumin ...

Two pyrazole-based ligands bearing a pyridine moiety, 3-methyl-1-(pyridin-2-yl)-5-pyrazolone (HLpy), and 3methyl-1-(pyridin-2-yl)-4-trifluoroacetyl-5-pyrazolone (HQpy,CF3), were prepared and fully characterized in the solid-state and the tautomerism of bot ...

Ruthenium(II) arene complexes of 1,4,7-triaza-9-phosphatricyclo[5.3.2.1]tridecane (CAP) were obtained. Cytotoxicity studies against cancer cell lines reveal higher activity than the corresponding PTA analogues and, in comparison to the effects on noncancer ...

Cyclopentadienyl ruthenium(II) complexes with a large number of available coordination sites are frequently used catalysts for a broad range of transformations. To be able to render these transformations enantioselective, we have designed a chiral neutral ...

A series of ruthenium(II) arene derivatives (arene = cymene (cym), hexamethylbenzene (hmb)) containing avobenzone (1-(4-tert-butylphenyl)-3-(4-methoxyphenyl)propane-1,3-dione, AVBH) and PTA (1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane) or PTA-Me (N-methyl-1,3,5-triaz ...

A series of neutral ruthenium(II) arene complexes [(arene)Ru(Q(R))Cl] (arene = p-cymene (cym) or hexamethylbenzene (hmb)) containing 4-acyl-5-pyrazolonate Q(R) ligands with different electronic and steric substituents (R = 4-cyclohexyl, 4-stearoyl, or 4-ad ...

Compounds that combine metal-based drugs with covalently linked targeted organic agents have been shown, in some instances, to exhibit superior anticancer properties compared to the individual counterparts. Within this framework, we prepared a series of or ...

The chemical transformation of CO2 and bicarbonates into useful products becomes increasingly impor- tant as the atmospheric CO2 level has reached 400 ppm. Here a small library of sulfonated aryl mono- phosphines and aryl diphosphines was tested as stabili ...

Transition-metal catalyzed C-H functionalizations became a complementary and efficient bond-forming strategy over the past decade. In this respect, Cp*Rh(III) complexes have emerged as powerful catalysts for a broad spectrum of reactions giving access to s ...

Severe general toxicity issues blight many chemotherapeutics utilized in the treatment of cancers, resulting in the need for more selective drugs able to exert their biological activity at only the required location(s). Toward this aim, we report the devel ...

Based on the clinical success of platinum-based anti-cancer drugs such as cisplatin, carboplatin and oxaliplatin, a variety of other metal-based anti-cancer compounds are being investigated. In particular, a number of ruthenium-based compounds have been id ...

New ruthenium(II) arene derivatives (arene = p-cymene, benzene, hexamethylbenzene) containing beta-ketoamine ligands L' (HL' in general; in detail, HLph,ph = (4Z)-3-methyl-4-((phenylamino)(phenyl)methylene)-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-5(4H)-one, HLnaph,ph = (4Z)-3 ...

Metal complexes coordinated by a single cyclopentadienyl (Cp) ligand are widely used, versatile catalysts, but their application to asymmetric reactions has been hindered by the difficulty of designing Cp substituents that effectively bias the coordination ...

This report describes a full study of the gold-catalyzed direct alkynylation of indoles, pyrroles, and thiophenes using alkynyl hypervalent iodine reagents, especially the study of the structural requirements of alkynyl benziodoxolones for an efficient ace ...

Investigations of ruthenium halfsandwich complexes have mostly focused on Cp and Cp* based derivatives due to the availability of easily accessible starting materials. However, it is interesting to have complexes with substituted cyclopentadienyl ligands i ...

Cyclopentadienyl-ruthenium half-sandwich complexes with 2-bound alkyne ligands have been suggested as catalytic intermediates in the early stages of Ru-catalyzed reactions with alkynes. We show that electronically unsaturated complexes of the formula [RuCl ...
