Over the past few decades, low oxidation state f-element molecular complexes, including those of lanthanide, uranium, and thorium, have demonstrated high reactivity towards small molecules such as N2 and CO2 due to their unique chemical properties. However ...

In biomass gasification processes, the formation and handling of tars are of major concern. Robust and versatile analytical tools are needed to on-line monitor tar compound concentrations in process gases from lab- to industrial scale. This study addresses ...

Iron-exchanged zeolites are often deployed industrially to remediate nitric oxide (NO) and nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions. The nature of the active site and the reaction mechanism involved in the simultaneous removal of NO and N2O remain largely unknown, pr ...

The study addresses the degradation of Indole under low intensity solar simulated light. The first evidence is presented for sputtered films degrading Indole at the solid-air interface. The co-sputtering of FeOx-TiO2 on polyethylene (PE) leads to an accele ...

Polyethylene-TiO2 (from now on PE-TiO2) transparent, non-scattering sputtered films have been found effective in the discoloration of methylene blue (MB) under low intensity solar simulated light. By Fourier transform attenuated infrared spectroscopy (ATR- ...

synthesized and characterized by H-1, C-13, P-31 NMR and IR spectroscopies. The reaction of MnCl2 center dot 4H(2)O with L led to the formation of a new 3D system {MnL2Cl2}(n)center dot 34CH(3)OH (C-1). X-ray crystallographic data revealed that the ligand ...

Hybrid montmorillonite-alginate beads (MABs) were prepared by the ion-gelation method from alginate and montmorillonite clay suspension dropped in a calcium chloride solution. Similarly, iron-enriched beads (Fe-MABs) were prepared using iron-exchanged mont ...

We have prepared multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT)/In2O3 composites using a simple impregnation method. The precursor compound indium(III) chloride (InCl3) was used to cover the surface of MWCNTs and distilled water was used as solvent. The applied mass ...

A series of heterodinuclear p-cymene ruthenium ferrocene complexes, [(eta(6)-p-MeC6H4Pri)RuCl2(Ph(2)Pfc-CONHRCO2Me-kappa P)] (R = (S)-Me: 6, R = (S)-CHMe2: 7, R = (S)-CH2OMe: 8, R = (S)-CH2SMe: 9, R = (S)-CH2CH2CO2Me: 10) have been synthesized from p-cymen ...

A multielectrode setup for protein OFFGEL electrophoresis that significantly improves protein separation efficiency has been developed. Here, the electric field is applied by segments between seven electrodes connected in series to six independent power su ...

This article addresses the cell wall damage of Escherichia coil (from now on E. coil) by TiO2 suspensions. The dynamics of TiO2 photocatalysis by thin films layers is described. The films were characterized by FTIR spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy ...

We study p-adic families of cohomological automorphic forms for GL(2) over imaginary quadratic fields and prove that families interpolating a Zariski-dense set of classical cuspidal automorphic forms only occur under very restrictive conditions. We show ho ...

N,N-Bis(diphenylphosphino)ethylaniline compounds, Ph2PN-C6H4-C2H5, with ethyl groups at the ortho- and para-positions have been synthesized. Oxidation of the aminophosphines with hydrogen peroxide, elemental sulfur and selenium gave the corresponding ...

Two new aminophosphines, benzyl-N(Ph2P)(2) and 2-picolyl-N(Ph2P)(2), have been synthesized. Oxidation of the aminophosphines with either hydrogen peroxide, elemental sulfur and selenium gave the corresponding oxides, sulfides and selenides benzyl-N(Ph2P=E) ...

An innovative SiO2-PO43--TiO2 photocatalyst is presented which is able to bond TiO2 to Raschig rings (RR). Evidence for the formation on the catalyst surface of P = O stretching bands near 1200-1250 cm(-1) is presented by FTIR spectroscopy. The TiO2 Deguss ...

We present a novel probabilistic finite element method (FEM) for the solution and uncertainty quantification of elliptic partial differential equations based on random meshes, which we call random mesh FEM (RM-FEM). Our methodology allows to introduce a pr ...

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficiency of non-thermal plasma (NTP) and heterogeneous photocatalytic processes for indoor air treatment of refrigerated food chambers. Propionic acid and benzene were chosen as target pollutants to simulate o ...

New schemes are introduced that allow one to improve the resolution in the indirect dimension of single-scan 'ultrafast' two-dimensional NMR spectra. The methods combine undersampling with band-selective pulses to recover signals that lie outside the detec ...

Four new Schiff-bases have been synthesized from the 1:2 M condensation of 4,5,6,7-tetrahydrobenzothiazole-2,6-diamine with 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde (SL3), 5-Bromo-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde (SL2), 2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde (SL3) and 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehy ...

Cement based Eternit plates modified by TiO2/SiO2 surface layers acquired self-cleaning properties. The TiO2/SiO2 coating was transparent indicating that the small TiO2 (rutile) crystals cause no significant scattering. The parameters related to the compos ...
