The interface between two immiscible liquids, i.e. oil and water, is an extremely attractive scaffold to self-assemble nanoparticles (NP) in arranged films. The liquid-liquid interfaces (LLIs) are defect-free and pristine by the nature, they are transparen ...

It has been proposed that introducing the chlorine anion into a CH3NH3PbI3 perovskite material can substantially improve the materials properties as well as the solar cell performance. To elucidate the role of chlorine in perovskite solar cells (PSCs), her ...

Light-matter interaction drives many systems, such as optoelectronic devices like light-emitting diodes and solar cells, biological structures like photosystem II and potential future quantum devices. The absorption or emission of light typically occurs on ...

The invention relates to a method for the preparation of a coating comprising at least one coating layer on a solid substrate, said method comprising the steps of a, providing monomers of the type R-(N)x-(L)m-(C≡C)n-(L']o(N')y-R', wherein R is a head moiet ...

We introduce a novel hybrid algorithm to simulate the real-time evolution of quantum systems using parameterized quantum circuits. The method, named "projected - Variational Quantum Dynamics" (p-VQD) realizes an iterative, global projection of the exact ti ...

Experimental and numerical studies are performed to characterise the dynamics of isolated confined air bubbles in laminar fully developed liquid flows within channels of diameters d = 0.5 mm and d = 1 mm. Water and glycerol are used as the continuous liqui ...

A theoretical investigation of electron-D-2 resonant collisions-via the low-lying and the Rydberg states of D-2(-)-is presented for vibrational excitation, dissociative electron attachment and dissociative excitation processes by using the local-complex-po ...

A search for charged Higgs bosons produced in vector boson fusion processes and decaying into vector bosons, using proton-proton collisions at root s = 13 TeV at the LHC, is reported. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 137 fb(-1) co ...

A numerical method for the solution to the density-dependent incompressible Navier-Stokes equations modeling the flow of N immiscible incompressible liquid phases with a free surface is proposed. It allows to model the flow of an arbitrary number of liquid ...

We search for the baryon acoustic oscillations in the projected cross-correlation function binned into transverse comoving radius between the SDSS-IV DR16 eBOSS quasars and a dense photometric sample of galaxies selected from the DESI Legacy Imaging Survey ...

We unveil the nature of the structural disorder in bottom-up zigzag graphene nanoribbons along with its effect on the magnetism and electronic transport on the basis of scanning probe microscopies and first-principles calculations. We find that edge-missin ...

This work presents a study of XRD measurements on the development of the (113) preferential orientation with film thickness for Ti0.67Al0.33N films grown on Si(100) substrates by pulsed DC magnetron sputtering. The buildup of (113) texture was observed usi ...

Electrochromic windows allow for an improved management of solar heat gains in buildings and enhanced visual comfort of building users. All-solid-state electrochromic devices can be especially durable. During their fabrication lithium has to be inserted, p ...

We present a method to automatically detect dust and scratches on photographic material, in particular silver halide film, where traditional methods for detecting and removing defects fail. The film is digitized using a novel setup involving crosspolarizat ...

This article presents differential measurements of the asymmetry between Lambda(0)(b) and (Lambda) over bar (0)(b) baryon production rates in proton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of root s = 7 and 8 TeV collected with the LHCb experiment, co ...

We calculate the maximal absorption enhancement obtainable by guided mode excitation in a weakly absorbing dielectric slab over wide wavelength ranges. The slab mimics thin film silicon solar cells in the low absorption regime. We consider simultaneously w ...

We present a comprehensive study about the relationship between the way detailed balance is broken in non-equilibrium systems and the resulting violations of the fluctuation-dissipation theorem. Starting from stochastic dynamics with both odd and even vari ...

Dielectric metasurfaces have emerged as a powerful platform for novel optical biosensors. Due to their low optical loss and strong light-matter interaction, they demonstrate several exotic optical properties, including sharp resonances, strong nearfield en ...

Titania nanofibers were fabricated using the industrial Nanospider (TM) technology. The preparative protocol was optimized by screening various precursor materials to get pure anatase nanofibers. Composite films were prepared by mixing a commercial paste o ...

The identification of kinetic models is an important step for the monitoring, control and optimization of industrial processes. This is particularly the case for highly competitive business sectors such as chemical and pharmaceutical industries, where the ...
