Hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) is a material having an intrinsically high radiation hardness that can be deposited on flexible substrates such as polyimide (PI). For these properties, a-Si:H can be used for the production of flexible sensors. a-Si ...

Results are presented from a search for CP violation in top quark pair production, using proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13TeV. The data used for this analysis consist of final states with two charged leptons collected by the CMS exp ...

The NA62 experiment at CERN, designed to study the ultra-rare decay K+ -> pi(+) nu(nu) over bar, has also collected data in beam-dump mode. In this configuration, dark photons may be produced by protons dumped on an absorber and reach a decay volume beginn ...

We explore an odd class of quantum field theories where a hierarchy problem is resolved with new dynamics as opposed to new particles. The essential element of our construction is a U(1) pseudo-NambuGoldstone boson with symmetry breaking interactions all c ...

For inflation driven by the Higgs field coupled non-minimally to gravity, we study the cutoff energy scale above which perturbation theory breaks down. Employing the metric formulation, we first give an overview of known results and then provide a new way ...

We perform a numerical bootstrap study of the mixed correlator system containing the half-BPS operators of dimension two and three in N = 4 Super Yang-Mills. This setup improves on previous works in the literature that only considered single correlators of ...

Decays of B-0 and B-s(0) mesons to the charmless baryonic final states p (p) over barh(+)h'(-), where h and h' each denote a kaon or a pion, are searched for using the LHCb detector. The analysis is based on a sample of proton-proton collision data collect ...

The inclusive cross sections for dihadrons of charged pions and kaons (e(+)e(-) -> hhX) in electron-positron annihilation are reported. They are obtained as a function of the total fractional energy and invariant mass for any di-hadron combination in the s ...

The B-+/- meson production asymmetry in pp collisions is measured using B-+/- -> (D) over bar (0)pi(+) decays. The data were recorded by the LHCb experiment during Run 1 of the LHC at center- of- mass energies of ffiffiffi root s = 7 and 8 TeV. The product ...

LHCb is one of the four main experiments located at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, and has collected about 3 fb-¹ of proton-proton collisions at √s = 7 TeV and 8 TeV between December 2009 and December 2012. Designed for the study of B-meson ...

We report the first double differential cross sections of two charged pions and kaons (e(+)e(-) -> hhX) in electron-positron annihilation as a function of the fractional energies of the two hadrons for any charge and hadron combination. The dependence of t ...

Using the predictive power of the effective field theory approach, we present a physical parametrization of the leading effects beyond the standard model (BSM), which gives us at present the best way to constrain heavy new physics at low energies. We show ...

A search for heavy Majorana neutrinos produced in the B- -> pi(+)mu(-)mu(-) decay mode is performed using 3 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity collected with the LHCb detector in pp collisions at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV at the LHC. Neutrinos wi ...

Charged particle production in proton-proton collisions is studied with the LHCb detector at a centre-of-mass energy of root s = 7 TeV in different intervals of pseudorapidity eta. Charged particles are reconstructed close to the interaction region in the ...

A quantum particle can be localized in a disordered potential, the effect known as Anderson localization. In such a system, correlations of wave functions at very close energies may be described, due to Mott, in terms of a hybridization of localized states ...

A model describing the 4.1 sigma Wjj anomaly observed by the CDF experiment at the Tevatron collider is introduced. It features new scalar particles which are charged both under the SU(3)(C) and the SU(2)(L) gauge groups and which couple to pairs of quarks ...

Using data collected with the LHCb detector in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV, the semileptonic decays (B) over bar (0)(s) -> D+X mu(-)(nu) over bar and (B) over bar (0)(s) -> (DK+X)-K-0 mu(-)(nu) over bar are detected. Two st ...

The motion of an optically trapped sphere constrained by the vicinity of a wall is investigated at times where hydrodynamic memory is significant. First, we quantify, in bulk, the influence of confinement arising from the trapping potential on the sphere's ...

An extension of the Standard Model by three singlet fermions with masses smaller than the electroweak scale allows to explain simultaneously neutrino oscillations, dark matter and baryon asymmetry of the Universe. We discuss the properties of neutral lepto ...

The rare decay B0→γγ is searched for in 104fb-1 of data, corresponding to 111×106BB̄ pairs, collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. No evidence for the signal is found, and an upper limit of 6.2×10-7 at 90% confidence ...
