Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have made great advances in terms of power conversion efficiency (PCE), yet their subpar stability continues to hinder their commercialization. The interface between the perovskite layer and the charge-carrier transporting lay ...

To solve the toxicity issues related to lead-based halide perovskitesolar cells, the lead-free double halide perovskite Cs2AgBiBr6 is proposed. However, reduced rate of charge transferin double perovskites affects optoelectronic performance. We designeda s ...

Large-scale patterning for vapor-liquid-solid growth of III-V nanowires is a challenge given the required feature size for patterning (45 to 60 nm holes). In fact, arrays are traditionally manufactured using electron-beam lithography, for which processing t ...

Carbon-based electrodes have been widely applied in perovskite solar cells (PSCs) because of their chemical inertness and compatibility with up-scalable techniques, signifying their solid potential for mass-production. The material scarcity and complexity ...

The concept of mixed 2D/3D heterostructures has emerged as an effective method for improving the stability of lead halide perovskite solar cells, which has been, however, rarely reported in lead-tin (Pb-Sn) mixed perovskite devices. Here, we report a scala ...

Two new hole‐transporting materials (HTMs), BX‐OMeTAD and BTX‐OMeTAD , based on xanthene and thioxanthene units, respectively, and bearing p ‐methoxydiphenylamine peripheral groups, are presented for their use in perovskite solar cells (PSCs). The novelty ...

In recent years, considerable efforts have been devoted to developing novel electron-selective materials for crystalline Si(c-Si) solar cells with the attempts to simplify the fabrication process and improve efficiency. In this study, ZnO:Al (AZO) is co-sp ...

Amorphous/crystalline silicon heterojunction (SHJ) solar cells technology is attracting tremendous attention in recent years due to its potential to achieve high power conversion efficiencies at low fabrication temperatures and using few process steps. How ...

In modern ultrafast optoelectronic technologies based on wide band gap insulators, the non-equilibrium dynamics of photogenerated charges plays a major role. Unravelling the mechanisms of interaction between these charge carriers and their environment is c ...

In this paper, spatially resolved photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy with various excitation wavelengths is presented as a nondestructive and versatile technique providing access to the individual subcells of multijunction solar cells. This method is demo ...

Graphene has some drawbacks, like the absence of an electronic band gap which leads to only small gate switching ratios, and its fast carrier recombination that limits its use in optoelectronics. In order to overcome these issues, the aim of this thesis wa ...

A structureproperty relationship in all-organic dye solar cells is revealed by first-principles molecular dynamics and real-time time-dependent density functional theory simulations, accompanied with experimental confirmation. An important structural featu ...

This paper reports a new D-A-pi-A organic dye WS-9, which is derived from the known dye WS-2 by incorporating an n-hexylthiophene unit into the pi-conjugation. Due to the presence of a strong electron-withdrawing benzothiadiazole unit in the pi-bridge, the ...

Graphene nanoplatelets (GNP) in the form of thin semitransparent films on F-doped SnO2 (FTO) exhibit high electrocatalytic activity for the Co(bpy)(3)(3+/2+) redox couple in acetonitrile electrolyte solution. The GNP film is superior to the traditional ele ...

Silicon heterojunction solar cells have high open-circuit voltages thanks to excellent passivation of the wafer surfaces by thin intrinsic amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) layers deposited by plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition. We show a dramatic improvem ...

With the increasing cognition of the importance of organic molecules, they are widely applied in printing, biological and pharmacological fields, because of their special capabilities of harvesting solar light, scavenging free radicals, and chelating metal ...

The first examples of di-branched di-anchoring organic sensitizers were synthesized and used in dye-sensitized solar cells leading to red-shifted IPCE maxima and increased photocurrent when compared to the corresponding mono-branched mono-anchoring dye, yi ...

This paper presents an overview of the research carried out by a European consortium with the aim to develop and test new and improved ways to realise dye-sensitized solar cells (DSC) with enhanced efficiencies and stabilities. Several new areas have been ...
