Instead of Lorentz invariance, gravitational degrees of freedom may obey Lifshitz scaling at high energies, as it happens in Horava's proposal for quantum gravity. We study consequences of this proposal for the spectra of primordial perturbations generated ...

From a model-building perspective, the inflationary sector might very well have no direct couplings to other species, apart from inevitable gravitational interactions. Within the context of General Relativity, a thermal universe can still emerge after infl ...

We bootstrap the S matrix of massless particles in unitary, relativistic two dimensional quantum field theories. We find that the low energy expansion of such S matrices is strongly constrained by the existence of a UV completion. In the context of flux tu ...

4D CFTs have a scale anomaly characterized by the coefficient c, which appears as the coefficient of logarithmic terms in momentum space correlation functions of the energy-momentum tensor. By studying the CFT contribution to 4-point graviton scattering am ...

Due to their late formation in cosmic history, clusters of galaxies are not fully in hydrostatic equilibrium and the gravitational pull of their mass at a given radius is expected not to be entirely balanced by the thermal gas pressure. Turbulence may supp ...

Gravitational lensing - the deflection of light by gravity - has greatly developed since its famous first observation in 1919, which validated Einstein's General Theory of Relativity. The strength of this effect does not depend on the nature of the mass wh ...

In this report, based on [1], we suggest that the hierarchy between the Electroweak (EW) and the Planck scales can emerge due to a nonperturbative effect that relates low-energy and strong-gravity physics. In this mechanism, the EW scale results from an ex ...

Bosonic ultralight dark matter (ULDM) would form cored density distributions at the center of galaxies. These cores, seen in numerical simulations, admit analytic description as the lowest energy bound state solution ("soliton") of the Schroedinger-Poisson ...

Gravity currents are density-driven flows that are able to transport high amounts of sediment and are responsible of great geomorphic changes. Moreover they can have severe repercussions on the environment since they are conveyors of substances, e.g. pollu ...

We consider the scenario where dark matter (DM) is represented by an ultralight classical scalar field performing coherent periodic oscillations. We point out that such DM perturbs the dynamics of binary systems either through its gravitational field or vi ...

Gait recovery after neurological disorders requires remastering the interplay between body mechanics and gravitational forces. Despite the importance of gravity-dependent gait interactions and active participation for promoting this learning, these essenti ...

Herschel-Bulkley materials can be set in motion when a sufficiently high shear stress or body force is applied to them. We investigate the behaviour of a layer of Herschel-Bulkley fluid when it is suddenly tilted and subject to gravitational forces. The ma ...
