Two -particle Bose-Einstein momentum correlation functions are studied for charged-hadron pairs in lead -lead collisions at a center -of -mass energy per nucleon pair of .'/sNN = 5.02 TeV. The data sample, containing 4.27 x 109 minimum bias events correspo ...

This data set contains the data collected during the FNS project Green Piezo (Grant no. 179064) in association with the recent publication entitled “3D printing of customizable transient bioelectronics and sensors”. This work aims to study and demonstrate ...

We consider a class of parabolic stochastic PDEs on bounded domains D c Rd that includes the stochastic heat equation but with a fractional power gamma of the Laplacian. Viewing the solution as a process with values in a scale of fractional Sobolev spaces ...

The invention concerns a single-particle inductively-coupled plasma (ICP) mass spectrometry particle sizing and counting method comprising providing or receiving an intensity-versus-counts histogram of particles detected using an ICP mass spectrometer, the ...

A search is performed for massive long-lived particles (LLPs) decaying semileptonically into a muon and two quarks. Two kinds of LLP production processes were considered. In the first, a Higgs-like boson with mass from 30 to 200 GeV/c(2) is produced by glu ...

We study the dynamics of a cavitation bubble near beds of sand of different grain sizes. We use high-speed imaging to observe the motion of the bubble and the sand for different values of the stand-off parameter gamma (dimensionless bubble-boundary distanc ...

The measurement and classification of light is essential across many scientific disciplines. Devices used to measure light range from the highly precise scanning spectroradiometers to the more practical compact multichannel filter-array type imaging sensor ...

To improve the accuracy of bifacial gain estimation, recent radiative models of solar energy systems have abandoned the traditional assumption of isotropic ground-reflected radiance. However, surface reflectance itself is still commonly considered as a con ...

This work proposes a method to measure the photon polarisation in

Deep neural networks have been empirically successful in a variety of tasks, however their theoretical understanding is still poor. In particular, modern deep neural networks have many more parameters than training data. Thus, in principle they should over ...

The decays B+-> J/psi pi(+)pi(-)K(+)are studied using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb(-1)collected with the LHCb detector in proton-proton collisions between 2011 and 2018. Precise measurements of the ratios of branching fracti ...

A first search for CP violation in the Cabibbo-suppressed Xi(+)(c) -> pK(-) pi(+) decay is performed using both a binned and an unbinned model-independent technique in the Dalitz plot. The studies are based on a sample of protonproton collision data, corre ...

An angular analysis of the B-0 -> K-0 (-> K+pi(-))mu(+)mu(-) decay is presented using a dataset corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.7 fb(-1) of pp collision data collected with the LHCb experiment. The full set of CP-averaged observables are det ...

We report the first observation of the radiative decay of the Upsilon(1S) into a charmonium state. The significance of the observed signal of Upsilon(1S) -> gamma chi(c1) is 6.3 standard deviations including systematics. The branching fraction is calculate ...

The cross-sections of.(2S) meson production in proton-proton collisions at v s = 13 TeV are measured with a data sample collected by the LHCb detector corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 275 pb-1. The production cross-sections for prompt.(2S) meso ...

A study of the lineshape of the chi(c1) (3872) state is made using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1) collected in pp collisions at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV with the LHCb detector. Candidate chi(c1)(3872) and ...

This erratum corrects measurements of the prompt and secondary (from-b) psi (2S) production cross-sections in the forward region in pp collisions at root s = 7TeV. The original measurements were performed using data collected with the LHCb detector in 2010 ...

Amid a data revolution that is transforming industries around the globe, computing systems have undergone a paradigm shift where many applications are scaled out to run on multiple computers in a computing cluster. As the storage and processing capabilitie ...

The fi rst untagged decay-time-integrated amplitude analysis of B 0 s ! K 0 S K decays is performed using a sample corresponding to 3: 0 fb of pp collision data recorded with the LHCb detector during 2011 and 2012. The data are described with an amplitude ...

The first amplitude analysis of the B-+/- -> pi(K+K-)-K-+/- decay is reported based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1) of pp collisions recorded in 2011 and 2012 with the LHCb detector. The data are found to be best de ...
