VR (Virtual Reality) is a real-time simulation that creates the subjective illusion of being in a virtual world. This thesis explores how integrating the user's body and fingers can be achieved and beneficial for the user to experience VR. At the advent of ...

The premotor (PM) and primary motor (M1) cortical areas broadcast voluntary motor commands through multiple neuronal pathways, including the corticorubral projection that reaches the red nucleus (RN). However, the respective contribution of M1 and PM to co ...

Goal-directed behaviors involve coordinated activity in many cortical areas, but whether the encoding of task variables is distributed across areas or is more specifically represented in distinct areas remains unclear. Here, we compared representations of ...

While aging is characterized by neurodegeneration, musical training is associated with experience-driven brain plasticity and protection against age-related cognitive decline. However, evidence for the positive effects of musical training mostly comes from ...

The functional organization of neural processes is constrained by the brain's intrinsic structural connectivity, i.e., the connectome. Here, we explore how structural connectivity can improve the representation of brain activity signals and their dynamics. ...

Despite the successes of deep neural networks on many challenging vision tasks, they often fail to generalize to new test domains that are not distributed identically to the training data. The domain adaptation becomes more challenging for cross-modality m ...

The brain is the substrate of a complex dynamic system providing a remarkably varied range of functionalities, going from simple perception to higher-level cognition. Disturbances in its complex dynamics can cause an equally vast variety of mental disorder ...

In this paper we tackle the problem of regularisation for inverse problems in single shell diffusion weighted image restoration. Our aim is to recover a high-resolution and denoised DWI signal, prior to any model fitting. The main contribution of our metho ...

Auditory brainstem implants (ABIs) provide sound awareness to deaf individuals who are not candidates for the cochlear implant. The ABI electrode array rests on the surface of the cochlear nucleus (CN) in the brainstem and delivers multichannel electrical ...

Impaired locomotion is a frequent and major source of disability in patients with neurological conditions. Different neuroimaging methods have been used to understand the brain substrates of locomotion in various neurological diseases (mainly in Parkinson' ...

Despite many behavioral and neuroimaging investigations, it remains unclear how the human cortex represents spectrotemporal sound features during auditory imagery, and how this representation compares to auditory perception. To assess this, we recorded ele ...

In this paper, we propose a novel deep convolutional neural network (CNN)-based algorithm for solving ill-posed inverse problems. Regularized iterative algorithms have emerged as the standard approach to ill-posed inverse problems in the past few decades. ...

Radiofrequency (RF) coils are key components of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems. The primary purpose of this review is to provide a basic theory of RF coil designs and their characterization by bench measurements, electromagnetic field simulations ...

The electroencephalogram (EEG) is a non-invasive and low-cost tool for the investigation of human brain function. However, EEG data are typically contaminated with a number of artifacts. With the advent of both high-density EEG arrays and studies of large ...
