The photophysical properties of low‐dimensional metal‐halide semiconductors and their tunability make them promising candidates for light‐absorbing and emitting applications. Yet, the germanium‐based halide perovskites to date lack desirable light‐emitting ...

Monolayers of transition-metal dichalcogenides, such as MoS 2 , have attracted significant attention for their exceptional electronic and optical properties, positioning them as ideal candidates for advanced optoelectronic applications. Despite their stron ...

Microcavity polaritons are strongly interacting hybrid light-matter quasiparticles, which are promising for the development of novel light sources and active photonic devices. Here, we report polariton lasing in the UV spectral range in microring resonator ...

In this work, we provide the first 2D spatially resolved description of radiative detachment in MAST-U Super-X L-mode divertor plasmas. The Super-X magnetic configuration was designed to achieve reduced heat- and particle loads at the divertor target compa ...

Observing the fast dynamics of nanoscale systems is crucial in order to understand and ultimately control their behavior. Characterizing these dynamic processes requires techniques with atomic spatial resolution and a temporal resolution that matches the t ...

Multimode fibers (MMF) were initially developed to transmit digital information encoded in the time domain. There were few attempts in the late 60s and 70s to transmit analog images through MMF. With the availability of digital spatial modulators, practica ...

Optical microresonators with high quality (Q) factors are essential to a wide range of integrated photonic devices. Steady efforts have been directed towards increasing microresonator Q factors across a variety of platforms. With success in reducing microf ...

The present invention concerns a measurement device including at least one fluidic channel for providing at least one specimen in at least one liquid to at least an optical measurement region of the measurement device; and at least one optical structure co ...

Recently, there has been significant interest in using dielectric nanocavities for the controlled scattering of light, owing to the diverse electromagnetic modes that they support. For plasmonic systems, electron energy-loss spectroscopy (EELS) is now an e ...

The Mn-doping/decoration of S-containing semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) determine their photochemical properties and are important in the field of artificial photosynthesis. The Mn-mediated charge-transfer kinetics and energetics in composites of the typ ...

Characterizing and controlling the out-of-equilibrium state of nanostructured Mott insulators hold great promises for emerging quantum technologies while providing an exciting playground for investigating fundamental physics of strongly-correlated systems. ...

Thermal frequency fluctuations in optical cavities limit the sensitivity of precision experiments ranging from gravitational wave observatories to optical atomic clocks. Conventional modeling of these noises assumes a linear response of the optical field t ...

Here, we report a facile irradiation-assisted route to fabricate sub-10 nm Ag nanowires fromoxide supports using a TEM. The obtained Ag nanowires show a tunable length/diameter aspect ratio with a minimum diameter of about 9.5 nm. Moreover, the nucleation ...
