Résumé

The axis "Integrated Design Architecture and Sustainability" (IDEAS) is a joint initiative of both the Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Performance-Integrated Design (LIPID) and Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST) of the School of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering (ENAC) at EPFL. It aims to address an increased integration of the various issues related to sustainable architecture within the framework of the Doctoral program Architecture & Science of the city (EDAR) as well as a desire to strengthen exchanges and synergies between the three institutes of ENAC. Towards this end, it lies on one hand on a new interdisciplinary education offer in the form of seminlasars and workshops, and on the other hand on a networking structure for EPFL PhD students.

Conception de circuits intégrés

La conception (ou le design) de circuits intégrés (ou puces électroniques) consiste à réaliser les nombreuses étapes de développement (flot de conception ou design flow) nécessaires pour concevoir correctement et sans erreurs une puce électronique. Le point d'entrée est une spécification fonctionnelle qui décrit le fonctionnement voulu de la puce, ainsi que des contraintes non fonctionnelles (surface, coût, consommation...).

Integrated circuit layout

In integrated circuit design, integrated circuit (IC) layout, also known IC mask layout or mask design, is the representation of an integrated circuit in terms of planar geometric shapes which correspond to the patterns of metal, oxide, or semiconductor layers that make up the components of the integrated circuit. Originally the overall process was called tapeout, as historically early ICs used graphical black crepe tape on mylar media for photo imaging (erroneously believed to reference magnetic data—the photo process greatly predated magnetic media).

Architecture de processeur

Une architecture externe de processeur ou architecture de jeu d'instructions (ISA, de l'anglais instruction set architecture), ou tout simplement architecture (de processeur), est la spécification fonctionnelle d'un processeur, du point de vue du programmeur en langage machine. L'architecture comprend notamment la donnée d'un jeu d'instructions, d'un ensemble de registres visibles par le programmeur, d'une organisation de la mémoire et des entrées sorties, des modalités d'un éventuel support multiprocesseur, etc.
