A search is presented for the decay of the 125 GeV Higgs boson (H) to a pair of new light pseudoscalar bosons (a), followed by the prompt decay of each a boson to a bottom quark-antiquark pair, H -> aa -> b (b) over barb (b) over bar. The analysis is perfo ...

A large variety of new physics models suggest that the rates for lepton flavour violating

b

-hadron decays may be much higher than predicted in the Standard Model, which leads to a high interest in the search for such decays. This thesis presents the se ...

The nuclear modification factor of neutral pions is measured in proton-lead collisions collected at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon of 8.16 TeV with the LHCb detector. The π0 production cross section is measured differentially in transverse momentum (p ...

This thesis presents a search for a beyond the Standard Model (SM) heavy neutral lepton (HNL), which does not interact via any of the SM interactions. This hypothetical particle has been proposed by multiple theories as an extension to the SM, and it could ...

A search for physics beyond the standard model (SM) in the final state with a hadronically decaying tau lepton and a neutrino is presented. This analysis is based on data recorded by the CMS experiment from proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass ener ...

K-EUSO (KLYPVE-EUSO) is a planned orbital mission aimed at studying ultra-high energy cosmic rays (UHECRs) by detecting fluorescence and Cherenkov light emitted by extensive air showers in the nocturnal atmosphere of Earth in the ultraviolet (UV) range. Th ...

This thesis presents a measurement of charm mixing and CP-violation parameters using D0 -> K0S pi+ pi- decays. These mixing parameters include the mass and decay-width differences of the mass eigenstates of the D0-D0bar system. A search for Charge-Parity v ...

The current limitations of the standard model of elementary particle physics drive the search for phenomenons forbidden within that framework with the goal to unveil a more universal theory. This thesis presents the search for two lepton flavour violating ...

A search for leptoquarks produced singly and in pairs in proton-proton collisions is presented. We consider the leptoquark (LQ) to be a scalar particle of charge -1/3e coupling to a top quark plus a tau lepton (t tau) or a bottom quark plus a neutrino (b n ...

We study a phenomenological class of models where dark matter converts to dark radiation in the low redshift epoch. This class of models, dubbed DMDR, characterizes the evolution of comoving dark-matter density with two extra parameters, and may be able to ...

Long-lived particles decaying to e(+/-) mu(-/+)nu, with masses between 7 and 50 GeV/c(2) and lifetimes between 2 and 50 ps, are searched for by looking at displaced vertices containing electrons and muons of opposite charges. The search is performed using ...

We study the type-I seesaw model with three right-handed neutrinos and Majorana masses below the pion mass. In this mass range, the model parameter space is not only strongly constrained by the requirement to explain the light neutrino masses, but also by ...

The experimental results on the ratios of branching fractions R(D) = B((B) over bar -> D tau(-)(nu) over bar (tau))/B((B) over bar -> Dl(-)(nu) over bar (e)) and R(D*) = B((B) over bar -> Dtau(-)(nu) over bar (tau))/B((B) over bar -> Dtau(-)(nu) over bar ...

New massive long-lived particles (LLP) are predicted by multiple beyond the Standard Model theories. This thesis presents the search of such long-lived particles decaying leptonically in the

e \mu \nu

final state. The search is performed using 2.31 fb$^{ ...

This work proposes a method to measure the photon polarisation in

B^+ \rightarrow K^+ \pi^- \pi^+ \gamma

decays and prepares the necessary elements for this measurement using the data sets collected by the LHCb experiment at CERN in

2011

2012

, $2016 ...

A search for CP violation in the Cabibbo-suppressed D-0 K+K-+- decay mode is performed using an amplitude analysis. The measurement uses a sample of pp collisions recorded by the LHCb experiment during 2011 and 2012, corresponding to an integrated luminosi ...

This thesis presents new results on searches for lepton-flavour-violating particle decays, performed in the LHCb experiment at CERN. Two analyses are discussed in detail. The first one concerns the B(s,d)->e mu decay. No evidence of signal is observed and ...

Asearch forCP violation in charmless four-body decays of Lambda(0)(b) and Xi(0)(b) baryons with a proton and three charged mesons in the final state is performed. To cancel out production and detection charge-asymmetry effects, the search is carried out by ...

The decay of the narrow resonance (B) over bar (s2)*(0 )-> B(-)K(+)can be used to determine the B- momentum in partially reconstructed decays without any assumptions on the decay products of the r meson. This technique is employed for the first time to dis ...

The decay-time-dependent CP asymmetry in B0 s. J/. K + K-decays is measured using proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.9 fb-1, collected with the LHCb detector at a centre-ofmass energy of 13 TeV in 2015 and 2016. Us ...
