Poor cycling stability in lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries necessitates advanced electrode/electrolyte design and innovative interlayer architectures. Heterogeneous catalysis has emerged as a promising approach, leveraging the adsorption and catalytic perfo ...

G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) are key regulators of human physiology and are the targets of many small-molecule research compounds and therapeutic drugs. While most of these ligands bind to their target GPCR with high affinity, selectivity is often l ...

We found that cyclometalated cyclopentadienyl iridium(III) complexes are uniquely efficient catalysts in homogeneous hydrogenation of oximes to hydroxylamine products. A stable iridium C,N-chelation is crucial, with alkoxy-substituted aryl ketimine ligands ...

Clathrochelate complexes of cobalt are known in the oxidation states I, II, and III. Low-valent Co(I) complexes are highly reactive compounds, and there is only limited knowledge about their structures in the solid state. Herein, we describe the crystallog ...

The direct construction of stereogenic axes by enantioselective C-H arylation has been regarded as a very challenging transformation. Very few examples have been reported, despite the indisputable straight-forwardness of the methodology. This is due to the ...

The chemistry of cyclopentadienyl ruthenium(II) complexes plays an important role in ruthenium catalysis because of its high potential for various transformations. However, asymmetric catalysis with chiral cyclopentadienyl ruthenium(II) complexes is still ...

the strategy involving the use of functionalized tetrahydro-6H-cycloocta[b]indol-6-one is reported as a key intermediate for synthesis of members of the sarpagine-ajmaline-macroline family of monoterpene indole alkaloids. The desired tricycle was synthesiz ...

a-Amino ketones and 1,2-amino alcohols are important structural motifs in organic chemistry, that can be observed in natural products, pharmaceutically and bioactive compounds. For these reasons, they constitute privileged targets for the development of ne ...

The creation of new chiral ligands capable of providing high stereocontrol in metal-catalyzed reactions is crucial in modern organic synthesis. The production of bioactive molecules as single enantiomers is increasingly required, and asymmetric catalysis w ...

The hexanuclear [Na12Fe6(tris-cyclo-salophen)(2)(THF)(14)], 1-THF, and the trinuclear [Na6Fe3(tris-cyclo-salophen)(py)(9)], 1-py, Fe(II) clusters can be easily assembled in one step from the ligand-based reduction of the [FeII(salophen)(THF)] complex. Thes ...

G protein-coupled receptors play essential roles in cellular processes such as neuronal signaling, vision, olfaction, tasting, and metabolism. As GPCRs are the most important drug targets, understanding their interactions with ligands is of utmost importan ...

During the last decades, intensive efforts have been applied to tackle the enormous emissions of CO2 into atmosphere. These efforts include not only developing efficient carbon capture techniques, but also the introduction of new ways to transform the capt ...

Chiral cyclopentadienyl (Cp-x) group 9 metal complexes have become versatile catalysts for a variety of efficient enantioselective C-H functionalizations. Atropchiral binaphthyl-derived Cp-x ligands having tuning options at the 3,3'-positions present a rob ...

We report an oxidative ring-opening strategy to transform acyl, sulfonyl or carbamate protected aminocyclopropanes into 1,3-dielectrophilic carbon intermediates bearing a halide atom (Br, I) and a N,O-acetal. Replacing the alkoxy group of the N,O-acetal ca ...

N-Heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) are the ligands of choice in a large variety of transformations entailing different transition metals. However, the number of chiral NHCs suitable as stereocontrolling ligands in asymmetric catalysis remains limited. In parti ...

We here report the synthesis and characterization of a complete series of terminal hydrochalcogenido, U–EH, and chalcogenido uranium(IV) complexes, U≡E (with E = O, S, Se, Te), supported by the (Ad,MeArOH)3tacn (1,4,7-tris(3-(1-adamantyl)-5-methyl-2-hydrox ...

Dissolution of Fe(III) (hydr)oxide minerals by siderophores (i.e., Fe-specific, biogenic ligands) is an important step in Fe acquisition in environments where Fe availability is low. The observed coexudation of reductants and ligands has raised the questio ...

The addition of a metastable-state photoacid to solutions containing metal–ligand assemblies renders the systems light responsive. Upon irradiation, proton transfer from the photoacid to the ligand is observed, resulting in disassembly of the metallasupram ...

An enantioselective total synthesis of (-)-terengganensine A, a heptacyclic monoterpene indole alkaloid, was performed. A short sequence allowed to obtain the enantio-enriched target in good overall yield. The synthesis featured a key asymmetric transfer h ...

The rapid renal clearance of peptides in vivo limits this attractive platform for the treatment of a broad range of diseases that require prolonged drug half-lives. An intriguing approach for extending peptide circulation times works through a 'piggy-back' ...
