The angular momentum of rotating superfluid droplets originates from quantized vortices and capillary waves, the interplay between which remains to be uncovered. Here, the rotation of isolated submicrometer superfluid He-4 droplets is studied by ultrafast ...

The past decade has witnessed a quantum revolution in the field of computation, communication and materials investigation. A similar revolution is also occurring for free-electron based techniques, where the classical treatment of a free electron as a poin ...

We study the nonlinear evolution of the axisymmetric centrifugal instability developing on a columnar anticyclone with a Gaussian angular velocity using a semilinear approach. The model consists of two coupled equations: one for the linear evolution of the ...

We present the first experimental determination of the intra-atomic exchange energy between the inner 4f and the outer 6s5d shells in rare-earth elements. Inelastic electron tunneling spectroscopy on individual rare-earth atoms adsorbed on metal-supported ...

Millimeter wave (mmWave) communication is a promising solution for coping with the ever-increasing mobile data traffic because of its large bandwidth. To enable a sufficient link margin, a large antenna array employing directional beamforming, which is ena ...

Base station (BS) architectures for massive multi-user (MU) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless systems are equipped with hundreds of antennas to serve tens of users on the same time-frequency channel. The immense number of BS antennas incurs hi ...

A twisted X-ray beam with orbital angular momentum is employed in a theoretical study to probe molecular chirality. A nonlocal response description of the matter-field coupling is adopted to account for the field short wavelength and the structured spatial ...

We experimentally achieve optical time multiplexing of multiple Nyquist channels. A single microresonator Kerr comb allows the generation of multiple Nyquist sinc shaped pulse trains. TDM of pulse trains are obtained through wavelength conversion inside a ...

Dual-comb interferometry utilizes two optical frequency combs to map the optical field's spectrum to a radio-frequency signal without using moving parts, allowing improved speed and accuracy. However, the method is compounded by the complexity and demandin ...

We demonstrate for the first time azimuthal Talbot effect based on orbital angular momentum beams. The intensity petal is self-imaged in the azimuthal angle. We also draw the analogy between azimuthal and temporal Talbot effect. ...
