Continuous-wave-driven Kerr nonlinear microresonators give rise to self-organization in terms of dissipative Kerr solitons, which constitute optical frequency combs that can be used to generate low-noise microwave signals. Here, by applying either amplitud ...

Using photonic integrated silicon nitride microresonators of quality factor exceeding 15 million, we demonstrate 19-GHz-repetition-rate single soliton with 35 mW optical power, and characterize the phase noise of the repetition rate in the K-band microwave ...

This paper presents the first phase noise (PN) measurements of oscillators based on aluminum scandium nitride (AlScN) resonators. 2-port AlScN contour mode resonators (CMR) operating at 195 MHz arc fabricated. A large pool of Q values (ranging from 150 to ...

The WiseSkin project aims to provide a non-invasive solution for restoration of a natural sense of touch to persons using prosthetic limbs. By embedding sensor nodes into the silicone coating of the prosthesis, which acts as a sensory skin, WiseSkin target ...

Twentieth century has been the golden age of semiconductor industry by achieving a high level of growth as a courtesy of developments in fabrication techniques and downscaling of the technology. Since the downscaling in current lithography technology is re ...

We evaluate the Brillouin frequency shift (BFS) determination error when utilizing the Brillouin phase spectrum (BPS) instead of the Brillouin gain spectrum (BGS) in BOTDA systems. Systems based on the BPS perform the determination of the BFS through a lin ...

PURPOSE: Modification of a clinical MRI scanner to enable simultaneous or rapid interleaved acquisition of signals from two different nuclei. METHODS: A device was developed to modify the local oscillator signal fed to the receive channel(s) of an MRI cons ...

During the last decades, the usage of silicon photodetectors, both as stand-alone sensor or integrated in arrays, grew tremendously. They are now found in almost any application and any market range, from leisure products to high-end scientific apparatuses ...

The invention relates to a phase lock loop (100) comprising: - a loop filter (140), - a voltage controlled oscillator (150), - a frequency divider (160), - a frequency lock detector (113), able to emit a frequency lock indication signal (LOCK), - a digital ...

This paper presents a low start-up latency Transmitter (TX) that can achieve FSK data rates of upto 51.4 Mb/s for deployment in duty cycled microsensor nodes. Utilizing a Phase Domain Digital Synthesizer with an FBAR frequency reference, this TX has a star ...

This paper presents a fast and accurate way to design and optimize LC oscillators using the inversion coefficient (IC). This methodology consists of four steps: linear analysis, nonlinear analysis, phase noise analysis, and optimization using a figure of m ...

The jitter and the phase noise of ring oscillators utilizing subthreshold source-coupled logic (STSCL) style are analyzed in this paper. Closed-form equations are derived to predict the jitter and phase noise caused by white and flicker noise. Measurement ...

Purpose Carbon-13 magnetic resonance spectroscopy (13C-MRS) is challenging because of the inherent low sensitivity of 13C detection and the need for radiofrequency transmission at the 1H frequency while receiving the 13C signal, the latter requiring electr ...

The fading AWGN two-user two-hop network is considered where the channel coefficients are independent and identically distributed (i.i.d.) according to a continuous distribution and vary over time. For a broad class of channel distributions, the ergodic su ...
