This study focuses on the optimization of green ammonia production systems through a mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) framework. The proposed model integrates both design decisions and detailed annual operational strategies, evaluated at an hourly r ...

Herein, data acquisition protocols are explored and data reduction protocols are improved using PDFgetX3 to obtain reliable data for atomic pair distribution function (PDF) analysis from a laboratory‐based Mo K α X‐ray source. A variable counting scheme is ...

We report herein the first examples of chiral phosphoric acid-catalyzed enantioselective Diels-Alder reactions between 2-trifluoroacetamido-1,3-dienes 1 and alpha,beta-unsaturated carbonyl compounds 2. Polysubstituted 1-acetamido cyclohexenes 3 were formed ...

Chemical oxidants including ozone (O3), chlorine (HOCl/OCl-) and chlorine dioxide (ClO2) are applied for disinfection of drinking water. To cope with water scarcity and the increased risks associated with the presence of micropollutants, water treatment sy ...

Porous metal-organic frameworks are a class of materials with great promise in gas separation and gas storage applications. Due to the high dimensional space of materials science and engineering, computational screening techniques have long been an importa ...

A new and promising technology has emerged to compete with traditional silicon photovoltaic semiconductors. The low material and processing costs and high-power conversion efficiencies of organic-inorganic metal halide perovskites make these a promising te ...

Energy storage is a central issue in the green economy with half the global end energy usage being heat. Latent heat thermal energy storage (LHTES) provides an energy dense heat storage solution with a well-defined discharge temperature. Utilizing low-cost ...

The combination of porous reticular frameworks and nanocrystals (NCs) offers a rich playground to design materials with functionalities, which are beneficial for a large variety of applications. Achieving compositional and structural tunability of these hy ...

Utilizing earth-abundant metals to design economical and efficient electrocatalysts for cathodic hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and anodic oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is critical for acquiring clean hydrogen energy by the electrochemical overall wat ...

Rational design of non-noble metal electrocatalysts with high intrinsic activity for both the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) is extremely impressive for sustainable electrocatalytic water splitting systems. However, i ...

Liquid-in-liquid droplets are typically generated by the partitioning of immiscible fluids, e.g. by mechanical shearing with macroscopic homogenisers or microfluidic flow focussing. In contrast, partially miscible liquids with a critical solution temperatu ...

Investigating molecular excitations with femtosecond time resolution is of pivotal importance to understand the out-of-equilibrium processes taking place in molecular systems upon light absorption. The photochemistry of solvated species is heavily determin ...

Modern ammonia production plants are equipped with efficient energy integration networks able to recover an important fraction of the waste heat exergy available throughout the chemical system. However, in order to drive the endothermic reforming reactions ...

Hydrogen production through water electrolysis is a clean option for storing energy from renewable sources. Low-cost hydrogen production requires efficient water electrolyzers that can produce pure hydrogen at high production throughputs. Membrane-less ele ...
