A time-division multiplexing (TDM) digital channel coding scheme for wireline multi-drop interfaces has been proposed. Shaping the TX spectrum to avoid channel frequency notches, the proposed digital TDM signaling reduces inter-symbol interference (ISI) an ...

A time-division multiplexing (TDM) digital channel coding scheme with inter-symbol interference (ICI) reduction property for multi-drop memory interfaces has been proposed. Shaping the TX spectrum to avoid channel frequency notches, the proposed digital TD ...

Inspired by the compute-and-forward scheme from Nazer and Gastpar, a novel multiple-access scheme introduced by Zhu and Gastpar makes use of nested lattice codes and sequential decoding of linear combinations of codewords to recover the individual messages ...

Solitons are waveforms that preserve their shape while propagating, as a result of a balance of dispersion and nonlinearity(1,2). Soliton-based data transmission schemes were investigated in the 1980s and showed promise as a way of overcoming the limitatio ...

Recently the orbital angular momentum (OAM) multiplexing scheme has been proposed to increase supposedly without limit the channel capacity between a transmitter and a receiver nodes communicating in line of sight. A controversy arose about the far-field e ...

In this paper, we analyze Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access and Single-Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access as alternative physical layer schemes for the up-link of a satellite network. Both orthogonal frequency-division multiple access a ...

Write-once memory (WOM) is a storage medium with memory elements, called cells, which can take on q levels. Each cell is initially in level 0 and can only increase its level. A t-write WOM code is a coding scheme, which allows one to store t messages to th ...

Mobile communication - anytime, anywhere access to data and communication services - has been continuously increasing since the operation of the first wireless communication link by Guglielmo Marconi. The demand for higher data rates, despite the limited b ...

Arikan's polar coding method is extended to two-user multiple-access channels. It is shown that if the two users of the channel use Arikan's construction, the resulting channels will polarize to one of five possible extremals, on each of which uncoded tran ...

We consider the problem of estimating sparse communication channels in the MIMO context. In small to medium bandwidth communications, as in the current standards for OFDM and CDMA communication systems (with bandwidth up to 20 MHz), such channels are indiv ...

The demand for higher throughput and better efficiency are two important challenges for future communication networks. During the past decades, a lot of research studies have been devoted to investigating and proposing near optimal and efficient schemes an ...

We consider the diamond network where a source communicates with the destination through N non-interfering half-duplex relays. Deriving a simple approximation to the capacity of the network, we show that simple schedules having exactly two states and avoid ...

The aim of information-theoretic secrecy is to ensure that an eavesdropper who listens to the wireless transmission of a message can only collect an arbitrarily small number of information bits about this message. In contrast to cryptography, there are no ...

We examine routing over two classes of orthogonal information networks. The first is a relay network with orthogonal inputs. The nodes in this network do not broadcast, but communicate to the different nodes via independent inputs. There is multiple access ...

In multiple-user communications, the bursty nature of the packet arrival times cannot be divorced from the analysis of the transmission process. However, in traditional information theory the random arrival times are smoothed out by appropriated source cod ...

An achievable bit rate per source-destination pair in a wireless network of n randomly located nodes is determined adopting the scaling limit approach of statistical physics. It is shown that randomly scattered nodes can achieve, with high probability, the ...

We consider multiuser communication on a binary input additive white Gaussian noise channel using Randomly Spread-Code Division Multiple Access. We show concentration of various quantities of the system including the capacity and the free energy. We also o ...

We prove the concentration of the capacity, in the large system limit, for a code division multiple access system over an additive white Gaussian noise channel, with Gaussian signature sequences and {\it binary input} symbols. The probabilistic tools that ...

The neuropathological and clinical symptoms of Huntington's disease (HD) can be simulated in animal model with systemic administration of 3-nitropropionic acid (3-NP). Energy defects in HD could be ameliorated by administration of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), cre ...

The robustness of the delivery of digital compressed video streams has always been one of the main topic of the standardization bodies to assure the Quality of the Service (QoS). The MPEG standard which is nowadays the reference for digital television defi ...
