The development of stable materials, processable on alarge area,is a prerequisite for perovskite industrialization. Beyond the perovskiteabsorber itself, this should also guide the development of all otherlayers in the solar cell. In this regard, the use o ...

A myriad of studies and strategies have already been devoted to improving the stability of perovskite films; however, the role of the different perovskite crystal facets in stability is still unknown. Here, we reveal the underlying mechanisms of facet-depe ...

Light-induced degradation in metal halide perovskites is a major concern that can potentially hamper the commercialization of perovskite optoelectronic devices. The phenomena viz. ion migration, phase segregation, and defect intolerance are believed to be ...

This invention relates to an optoelectronic or photovoltaic device comprising a perovskite or metal halide perovskite film treated by one or more compounds of formula (I): ((R1-NH(R2)-R3)+)nW (I), wherein n is an integer selected from 1, 2, or 3; R1, R2, R ...

Metal halide to perovskite phase conversion is a facile approach for synthesizing high-quality perovskite semiconductors for optoelectronic applications. Here, these reactions are investigated at the nanoscale via in-situ x-ray scattering, revealing links ...

Tin (Sn)-based perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have attracted much attention because they are more environmentally friendly than lead-based PSCs. However, the fast crystallization of Sn-based perovskite films and the easy oxidation of Sn2+ to Sn4+ hinder the ...

In this work, we present a breakthrough in boronsilicate glass (BSG) passivated industrial tunnel oxide passivated contact (i-TOPCon) solar cells. We find that a high-temperature firing process significantly improves the front side BSG passivation quality; ...

The properties of efficient solar cells fabricated with triple-cation perovskite placed between a mesoporous titania layer and a spiro-OMeTAD layer are studied by using devices either prepared under water-free drybox conditions or fabricated under ambient ...

Two spiro-MeTAD compounds (1 and 2) were synthesized, characterized by experimental and quantum mechanical methods, and used as hole transporting materials (HTMs) in perovskite solar cells (PSCs). The new compounds differ from spiro-OMeTAD only by the pres ...

Unlocking the full potential of passivating contacts, increasingly popular in the silicon solar cell industry, requires determining the minority carrier lifetime. Minor passivation drops limit the functioning of solar cells; however, they are not detected ...

One source of instability in perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is interfacial defects, particularly those that exist between the perovskite and the hole transport layer (HTL). We demonstrate that thermally evaporated dopant-free tetra-cene (120 nm) on top of t ...

Two push-pull metal-free sensitizers with 5,11-dihydroindolo[3,2-b]carbazole derivatives as electron-donating groups and 4-(benzo[c][1,2,5]thiadiazol-4-ylethynyl)benzoic acid (BTZ) as electron-withdrawing unit, denoted by SK201 and SK202, were synthesized ...

Perovskite solar cells are one of the most promising photovoltaic technologies with their extraordinary progress in efficiency and the simple processes required to produce them. However, the frequent presence of a pronounced hysteresis in the current volta ...

Ultrathin bilayer heterojunction solar cells using cyanine electron donors and electron acceptor C-60 are used to fabricate monolithically stacked tandem and triple junction devices. Sub-cell stack sequences as well as C-60 layer thicknesses are optimized ...

Organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites have attracted attention as successful light harvesting materials for mesoscopic solid-state solar cells and led to record breaking efficiencies. The photovoltaic performance of these devices is greatly dependent on the ...
