Fluctuation estimates for the multi-cell formula in stochastic homogenization of partitions

Résumé

In this paper we derive quantitative estimates in the context of stochastic homogenization for integral functionals defined on finite partitions, where the random surface integrand is assumed to be stationary. Requiring the integrand to satisfy in addition a multiscale functional inequality, we control quantitatively the fluctuations of the asymptotic cell formulas defining the homogenized surface integrand. As a byproduct we obtain a simplified cell formula where we replace cubes by almost flat hyperrectangles.

En mathématiques, l'intégration ou calcul intégral est l'une des deux branches du calcul infinitésimal, l'autre étant le calcul différentiel. Les intégrales sont utilisées dans de multiples disciplines scientifiques notamment en physique pour des opérations de mesure de grandeurs (longueur d'une courbe, aire, volume, flux) ou en probabilités. Ses utilités pluridisciplinaires en font un outil scientifique fondamental. C'est la raison pour laquelle l'intégration est souvent abordée dès l'enseignement secondaire.

Locus de caractères quantitatifs

vignette|Locus de caractères quantitatifs Un locus de caractères quantitatifs (LCQ ou QTL pour quantitative trait loci) est une région plus ou moins grande d'ADN qui est étroitement associée à un caractère quantitatif, c'est-à-dire une région chromosomique où sont localisés un ou plusieurs gènes à impliqué dans caractère en question. L'hérédité de caractères quantitatifs se rapporte à une caractéristique phénotypique qui varie par degrés, et qui peut être attribuée à l'interaction entre deux ou plusieurs gènes et leur environnement (appelé aussi hérédité polygénique).

Functional integration

Functional integration is a collection of results in mathematics and physics where the domain of an integral is no longer a region of space, but a space of functions. Functional integrals arise in probability, in the study of partial differential equations, and in the path integral approach to the quantum mechanics of particles and fields. In an ordinary integral (in the sense of Lebesgue integration) there is a function to be integrated (the integrand) and a region of space over which to integrate the function (the domain of integration).
