Multilayer vesicles with an onion-like architecture can form by self-assembly of organic amphiphiles such as dendrimers, small-molecule surfactants, and block copolymers. Thus far, there are limited reports about multilayer vesicles based on coordination c ...

Herein, we report the redox reactivity of a multimetallic uranium complex supported by triphenylsiloxide (−OSiPh3) ligands, where we show that low valent synthons can be stabilized via an unprecedented mechanism involving intramolecular ligand migration. T ...

The creation and maintenance of crystallographic data repositories is one of the greatest data-related achievements in chemistry. Platforms such as the Cambridge Structural Database host what is likely the most diverse collection of synthesizable molecules ...

Trinuclear molecular complexes of europium (II)and ytterbium(II) [Ln3{(Ph2SiO)2O}3(THF)6],1-Ln3L3(Ln = Euand Yb), supported by the dianionic tetraphenyl disiloxanediolateligand, were synthesized via protonolysis of the [Ln{N-(SiMe3)2}2(THF)2] complexes. In ...

In the last years, it has been demonstrated a link between the overload of metal ions inside nervous system cells and the onset of severe neurodegenerative diseases. This prompted the investigation of the structural and functional properties of transporter ...

The synthesis, structure, and reactivity with CO2 and CS2 of new U(IV) complexes with a redox-active Schiff base are reported. The reaction of UI3 with the heptadentate Schiff base ligand 2,2',2 ''-tris(salicylideneimino)-triethylamine (trensal) did not le ...

Metallosupramolecular assemblies of the general formula M2nLn can adopt prismatic or cage‐like structures. The factors controlling the aggregation number n and the geometry of the final assembly are still not fully understood. Here, we describe the synthes ...

Energy Storage in the chemical bonds of water, a process accessible through electrochemical conversion, is a simple approach to compensate supply fluctuation common to sustainable energy production such as wind and solar. However, the water cycle is limite ...

Redox electrocatalysis (catalysis of electron-transfer reactions by floating conductive particles) is discussed from the point-of-view of Fermi level equilibration, and an overall theoretical framework is given. Examples of redox electrocatalysis in soluti ...

The depletion of carbon-based fossil fuels and the rise in atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration will force an inevitable change in the future global energy landscape. CO2 reduction presents the advantages of decreasing its atmospheric concentration and ...

Thermolysis of the nitride-bridged diuranium(IV) complex Cs{(-N)U(OSi((OBu)-Bu-t)(3))(3)} (1) showed that the bridging nitride behaves as a strong nucleophile, promoting N-C bond formation by siloxide ligand fragmentation to yield an imido-bridged sil ...

We report on seven new anionic benzimidazole-pyridine carboxylate and tetrazolate tridentate (NNO)-N-boolean AND-O-boolean AND and (NNN)-N-boolean AND-N-boolean AND ligands that are modified with chromophore (phenyl, biphenyl, naphthyl) and solubilizing gr ...

Transverse and longitudinal relaxation times (T11 and T1) have been widely exploited in NMR to probe the binding of ligands and putative drugs to target proteins. We have shown recently that long-lived states (LLS) can be more sensitive to ligand binding. ...

Many chemical and biochemical industries utilize chemical reaction processes to get desired products from raw materials. Common examples include reaction systems used to manufacture pharmaceutical drugs, vaccines and other chemicals. A chemical reaction sy ...

We theoretically investigate the dependence of the different parameters of an optical biosensor for the detection of Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) based on absorption enhancement of Cytochrome c molecules near gold nanoparticles. H2O2 is a major reactive oxygen ...

Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) is a powerful tool to investigate large molecules. Miniaturized microchips, as a goal of ‘Lab-on-chip’, allow various integrated analysis quickly. The coupling of functional microchips and ESI-MS is capabl ...

The nucleation and growth behavior of lithium on a CaO/Mo(001) thin film has been investigated by means of scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy. The Li follows two different growth regimes on the surface. Whereas extended 2D islands develop on to ...

A rational approach to the formation of pure heteropolymetallic lanthanide complexes that uses a two-step assembly strategy and exploits the different size requirements of the two metals included in the final structure is described. The investigation of th ...
