Structural and electronic factors are crucial to rationalizethedifferent N,O or N,N chelating coordination of pyrazolones containinga pyridine ring. The reactivity of proligand 3-phenyl-1-(pyridin-2-yl)-5-pyrazolone(HLpy,ph) with the (arene)Ru(II) fragment ...

This thesis investigates novel single-molecule luminescence phenomena at their inherent, sub-molecular length scale. The microscopic understanding of luminescence processes will be crucial for the continued improvement of organic optoelectronic and semicon ...

The small Stokes shift and weak emission in the solid state are two main shortcomings associated with the boron-dipyrromethene (BODIPY) family of dyes. This study presents the design, synthesis and luminescent properties of boron difluoro complexes of 2-ar ...

Despite recent advances in the field of cyclic alkyl amino carbenes (CAACs) including a few complementary synthetic strategies affording CAACs with various substitution patterns, the application potential of chiral CAACs to efficiently catalyze asymmetric ...

Recently, there has been observed huge progress in the advancement of remote optical nanothermometry, as it plays a vital role in remote, noninvasive, and remote temperature sensing, which is especially important for various bio-applications, e.g., in ther ...

Sensitized triplet-triplet annihilation-based photon upconversion is a photo-physical process that affords anti-Stokes-shifted emission after annihilation of two metastable triplet excitons of an emitter dye and the formation of a fluorescent singlet state ...

Supramolecular assemblies from organic dyes forming J-aggregates are known to exhibit narrowband photoluminescence with full-width at half maximum of approximate to 9 nm (260 cm(-1)). Applications of these high color purity emitters, however, are hampered ...

c-plane GaN/AlN quantum dots (QDs) are promising zero-dimensional quantum nanostructures that exhibit single photon emission properties up to room temperature and even above. In this context, it is of prime interest to gain a deeper insight into the recomb ...

In this thesis, we exploited optical and X-ray pump-probe methods in a synergistic approach to study the interplay of the electronic, spin and structural degrees of freedom in two class of complex systems relevant for solar energy conversion applications: ...

Delayed fluorescence (DF) is a long-lived luminescence process used in a variety of applications ranging from oxygen sensing in biological tissues to organic Light Emitting Diodes. In common cases, DF results from the deexcitation of the first excited trip ...

From s-polarized, angle-dependent measurements of the electroluminescence spectra in a three-layer phosphorescent organic light-emitting diode, we calculate the exciton distribution inside the 35 nm thick emission layer. The shape of the exciton profile ch ...

Au cours des 50 dernières années, les développements technologiques dans le domaine des transports et des télécommunications ont contribué à reconfigurer les comportements spatio-temporels (Kaufmann, 2008). Les individus bénéficient ainsi d’un large univer ...

A series of organometallic Ru(II) complexes containing functionalized η6‐arene ligands, together with curcumin and bisdemethoxycurcumin as O,O’‐chelating ligands and their RAPTA (ruthenium arene complexes bearing the 1,3,5‐triaza‐7‐phosphaadamantane ligand ...

The development of transition metal complexes for application in light-emitting devices is currently attracting significant research interest. Among phosphorescent emitters, those involving iridium (III) complexes have proven to be exceedingly useful due t ...

Cyanine dye molecules, used as monomers or in aggregate form, find interesting applications in optoelectronic devices. Among the various aggregate species incorporating organic dyes, centrosymmetric dimers are known as nonluminescent. They can act as excit ...

Narrow-band photoluminescence (PL) together with high quantum efficiency from organic molecules is essential for high-color-purity emitters. Supramolecular assemblies like J-aggregates are promising materials due to their narrow PL signal with full-width a ...

This study focused on the effects of ozonation on the photochemical and photophysical properties of dissolved organic matter (DOM). Upon ozonation, a decrease in DOM absorbance was observed in parallel with an increase in singlet oxygen (O-1(2)) and fluore ...

The work presented in this thesis focused on the synthesis and characterization of new metalloligands based on iron(II) clathrochelate complexes. Clathrochelates can be functionalized peripherally with donor groups capable of coordinating metal ions. The s ...

The fluorescence properties of the BODIPY dye and its two meso-substituted derivatives, tert-butyl- and phenyl-BODIPY, are rationalized. The non emissive behavior of the latter two are attributed to the energetically accessible low-lying conical intersecti ...
