Topological magnon bands enable uni-directional edge transport without backscattering, enhancing the robustness of magnonic circuits and providing a novel platform for exploring quantum transport phenomena. Magnetic skyrmion lattices, in particular, host a ...

The diversity of experimentally observed nonlinear coherent and partially coherent optical structures, including breathing, zero-dispersion, and switching wave states in driven optical microresonators, is mainly provided by cavity dispersion engineering. R ...

Applications such as optical clocks, gas spectroscopy, and optical coherent tomography stand to benefit significantly from the integration of on-chip supercontinuum sources. Materials exhibiting both second- and third-order nonlinearities are particularly ...

The integration of 2D materials with optical fibers enables multifunctional fiber devices, such as polarizers, modulators, and sensors. Recent advances in direct vapor deposition growth further enhance light‐2D material interactions to centimeter‐scale len ...

Optical parametric amplification is a promising alternative to traditional erbium-doped amplifiers, offering unidirectional, low-noise, and broadband amplification. Here we present an integrated continuous-traveling-wave parametric amplifier that surpasses ...

The response of simple plasmonic nanorods to polarized illumination is studied in detail. Depending on the orientation of that polarization with respect to the symmetry axes of the nanostructure, a chiral response can occur, which can be analyzed through a ...

The application of Raman scattering in biosensing diverges significantly from its previous usage in qualitative analysis, eliminating the necessity for spectroscopy in certain cases. Here, we push the frontiers of optical biosensing by integrating a custom ...

Polarimetric angle-resolved second-harmonic scattering (AR-SHS) is an all-optical tool enabling the study of unlabeled interfaces of nano-sized particles in an aqueous solution. As the second harmonic signal is modulated by interference between nonlinear c ...

We present Molecular Vibration Explorer, a freely accessible online database and interactive tool for exploring vibrational spectra and tensorial lightvibration coupling strengths of a large collection of thiolated molecules. The "Gold" version of the data ...

We prove small data modified scattering for the Vlasov-Poisson system in dimension

using a method inspired from dispersive analysis. In particular, we identify a simple asymptotic dynamic related to the scattering mass. ...

Tim-domain near-infrared optical tomography (TD NIROT) techniques based on diffuse light were gaining performance over the last years. They are capable of imaging tissue at several centimeters depth and reveal clinically relevant information, such as tissu ...

The ability to amplify optical signals is of pivotal importance across science and technology typically using rare-earth-doped fibres or gain media based on III-V semiconductors. A different physical process to amplify optical signals is to use the Kerr no ...

We demonstrate an erbium-doped waveguide amplifier by erbium ion implantation in Si3N4 photonic integrated circuits, achieving 145 mW on-chip output power and more than 30 dB small-signal gain, which is on par with commercial fiber amplifiers and beyond st ...

Optical second-harmonic generation (SHG) can only occur in noncentrosymmetric crystals in the leading electric-dipole approximation. Transition metal dichalcogenides with the 1T octahedral coordination is centrosymmetric, hence precluding SHG. Here we repo ...

We look beyond the standard time-average approach and investigate optical forces in the time domain. The formalism is developed for both the Abraham and Minkowski momenta, which appear to converge in the time domain. We unveil an extremely rich - and by fa ...

Water is ubiquitous on Earth, playing a critical role for a plethora of structures, processes and chemical reactions in nature. Its unique physicochemical properties originate mainly from its hydrogen bond network. Despite its recognized importance, many a ...

Immense field enhancement and nanoscale confinement of light are possible within nanoparticle-on-mirror (NPoM) plasmonic resonators, which enable novel optically activated physical and chemical phenomena and render these nanocavities greatly sensitive to m ...

In chiral cubic helimagnets, phases of magnetic skyrmions-topologically protected spin whirls-are stabilized by thermal fluctuations over a narrow region directly below the magnetic ordering temperature T-c. Due to often being touted for use in application ...

In this thesis, we exploited optical and X-ray pump-probe methods in a synergistic approach to study the interplay of the electronic, spin and structural degrees of freedom in two class of complex systems relevant for solar energy conversion applications: ...

Exchange magnons are essential for unprecedented miniaturization of GHz electronics and magnon-based logic. However, their efficient excitation via microwave fields is still a challenge. Current methods including nanocontacts and grating couplers require a ...
