Representing and reconstructing 3D deformable shapes are two tightly linked problems that have long been studied within the computer vision field. Deformable shapes are truly ubiquitous in the real world, whether be it specific object classes such as human ...

Scene and reference results files for: "A Critical Comparison of Annual Glare Simulation Methods" Stephen Wasilewski, Jan Wienold, Marilyne Andersen 2022 Buildsim Nordic, Copenhagen Contents: 01-06*.tar.gz: reference simulation image archives, one ...

Coconut tree plantations are one of the main sources of income in several South Pacific countries. Thus, keeping track of the location of coconut trees is important for monitoring and post-disaster assessment. Although deep learning based object detectors ...

Photometric stereo, a computer vision technique for estimating the 3D shape of objects through images captured under varying illumination conditions, has been a topic of research for nearly four decades. In its general formulation, photometric stereo is an ...

We address the detection, tracking, and relative localization of the agents of a drone swarm from a human perspective using a headset equipped with a single camera and an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). We train and deploy a deep neural network detector o ...

Turning pass-through network architectures into iterative ones, which use their own output as input, is a well-known approach for boosting performance. In this paper, we argue that such architectures offer an additional benefit: The convergence rate of the ...

When enough annotated training data is available, supervised deep-learning. algorithms excel at estimating human body pose and shape using a single camera. The effects of too little such data being available can be mitigated by using other information sour ...

The purpose of this Thesis is to develop, test, and characterize different models attempting to tackle the problem of measurement of galaxy shapes applied in interferometric observations. Shape measurement is a tool for estimating the underlying shear due ...

In a context where the high-energy physics community strives to enhance software to handle increased data throughput, detector simulation is evolving to take advantage of new performance opportunities. Given the intricacy of particle transport simulation, ...

The human face plays an essential role in social interactions as it brings information about someone's identity, state of mind, or mood. People are, by nature, very good at catching this non-spoken information. Therefore, scientists have been interested in ...

We propose a test -time adaptation for 6D object pose tracking that learns to adapt a pre -trained model to track the 6D pose of novel objects. We consider the problem of 6D object pose tracking as a 3D keypoint detection and matching task and present a mo ...

A computer-implemented inverse rendering method is provided. The method comprises: computing an adjoint image by differentiating an objective function that evaluates the quality of a rendered image, image elements of the adjoint image encoding the sensitiv ...

Zoning reform is a crucial tool for cities to adapt to contemporary challenges. However, its implementation remains challenging. Property owners, with a vested interest in the value of their neighborhoods, are sensitive to local developments and the potent ...

A computer-implemented method is proposed for creating a three-dimensional model of the environment. The method comprises the steps of planning (105) a trajectory for a moving system carrying an omnidirectional camera comprising a first image sensor facing ...

One of the main limitations of artificial intelligence today is its inability to adapt to unforeseen circumstances. Machine Learning (ML), due to its data-driven nature, is particularly susceptible to this. ML relies on observations in order to learn impli ...

The invention relates to an Imaging sensor device in a stacked arrangement comprising: - a pixel array tier comprising a plurality of pixel segments each having a plurality of pixels for photon detection each providing a digital pixel output; - a processin ...

An image-based methodology is presented for the automatic generation of geometric building models at LOD4, incorporating both interior and exterior geometrical information. Existing approaches often focus on simplified geometries for either exteriors or in ...

A new approach is proposed to detect edges based on an artificial neural network (ANN). Some elementary continuous and discontinuous functions interpolated in the polynomial space and their continuity are used as the training sets to train a back propagati ...
