The interface tailoring is crucial for the efficiency and stability of Perovskite Solar Cells (PSCs). The reported interface engineering primarily focuses on the energy level turning and trap state passivation to improve the photovoltaic performance of PSC ...

The adoption of technology in urban participatory planning with tools such as Virtual Geographic Environments (VGE) promises a broader engagement of urban dwellers, which should ultimately lead to the creation of better cities. However, the authorities and ...

In this paper, we consider electric vehicle charging facilities that offer various levels of service, i.e., charging rates, for varying prices such that rational users choose a level of service that minimizes the total cost to themselves including an oppor ...

Though museums are digitising their archives, online consultations remain low. New forms of engagement bring these digital memories to life and can support museums in maintaining and developing digital resources. Artificial Intelligence presents opportunit ...

Reading out neuronal activity from three-dimensional (3D) functional imaging requires segmenting and tracking individual neurons. This is challenging in behaving animals if the brain moves and deforms. The traditional approach is to train a convolutional n ...

An automated music composition and generation system for automatically harmonizing digital pieces of music using an automated music composition and generation engine for multi-voice music harmonization, including a system-user interface configured to input ...

We study the problem of learning unknown parameters of stochastic dynamical models from data. Often, these models are high dimensional and contain several scales and complex structures. One is then interested in obtaining a reduced, coarse-grained descript ...

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is an established technique to study in vivo neurological disorders such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS). To avoid errors on MRI data organization and automated processing, a standard called Brain Imaging Data Structure (BIDS) h ...

With their exponentially rising computational power, digital platforms are heralding a new era of hybrid intelligence. There has recently been much enthusiasm and hype that the Metaverse has the potential to unlock hybrid intelligence. This is premised on ...

Nowadays, search engines, social media or news aggregators are the preferred services for news access. Aggregation is mostly based on artificial intelligence technologies raising a new challenge: Trust has been ranked as the most important factor for media ...

Open-domain chatbots that can engage in a conversation on any topic received significant attention in the last several years, which opened opportunities for studying user interaction with them. Drawing from reviews of chatbots posted on Google Play, we exp ...

The phenomenon of online dating via web and mobile phone applications involves several actors: graphical interfaces, developers, algorithmic systems for user matching, and users. These actors have been studied in parallel by the social sciences and by comp ...

Context: Exploring the design space is an important process in a design task. In this study, we considered design space exploration for the learners in vocational education and training (VET). The goal of the study was to investigate how they explore the d ...

Recommendations with personalized explanations have been shown to increase user trust and perceived quality and help users make better decisions. Moreover, such explanations allow users to provide feedback by critiquing them. Several algorithms for recomme ...

We have developed a new tool that makes it possible for people with zero programming experience to intentionally and meaningfully explore the latent space of a GAN. This tool was developed to provide a means for designers to explore the "design space" of t ...
