We study an attractive scenario, "Sleptonic SUSY", which reconciles the 125 GeV Higgs scalar and the non-observation of superpartners thus far with potentially pivotal roles for slepton phenomenology: providing viable ongoing targets for LHC discovery, inc ...

The energy Casimir method is an effective controller design approach to stabilize port-Hamiltonian systems at a desired equilibrium. However, its application relies on the availability of suitable Casimir and Lyapunov functions, whose computation are gener ...

In this letter, we discuss certain universal predictions of the large charge expansion in conformal field theories with U (1) symmetry, mainly focusing on four-dimensional theories. We show that, while in three dimensions quantum fluctuations are responsib ...

The classical Lagrangian of the Standard Model enjoys the symmetry of the full conformal group if the mass of the Higgs boson is put to zero. This is a hint that conformal symmetry may play a fundamental role in the ultimate theory describing nature. The o ...

A search for supersymmetry is presented in events with a single charged lepton, electron or muon, and multiple hadronic jets. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb(-1) of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13TeV, rec ...

Conformal field theory lies at the heart of two central topics in theoretical high energy physics: the study of quantum gravity and the mapping of quantum field theories through the renormalization group. In this thesis we explore a technique to study conf ...

The Large Charge sector of Conformal Field Theory (CFT) can generically be described through a semiclassical expansion around a superfluid background. In this work, focussing on U(1) invariant Wilson-Fisher fixed points, we study the spectrum of spinning l ...

Quantum Field Theories (QFTs) in Anti-de Sitter (AdS) spacetime are often strongly coupled when the radius of AdS is large, and few methods are available to study them. In this work, we develop a Hamiltonian truncation method to compute the energy spectrum ...

A key aim of the HighNESS project for the European Spallation Source is to enable cutting-edge particle physics experiments. This volume presents a conceptual design report for the NNBAR experiment. NNBAR would exploit a new cold lower moderator to make th ...

At finite density, the spontaneous breakdown of an internal non-Abelian symmetry dictates, along with gapless modes, modes whose gap is fixed by the algebra and proportional to the chemical potential: the gapped Goldstones. Generically the gap of these sta ...

It is well established that the O(N) Wilson-Fisher (WF) CFT sits at a kink of the numerical bounds from bootstrapping four point function of O(N) vector. Moving away from the WF kinks, there indeed exists another family of kinks (dubbed non-WF kinks) on th ...

We prove that in any unitary CFT, a twist gap in the spectrum of operator product expansion (OPE) of identical scalar quasiprimary operators (i.e. phi x phi) implies the existence of a family of quasiprimary operators O t,l with spins l ->.infinity and twi ...

A first search for the lepton-flavour violating decays B^0 -> K^(*0)τ^(±)µ^(∓) is presented. The analysis is performed using a sample of proton-proton collision data, collected with the LHCb detector at centre-of-mass energies of 7, 8 and 13TeV between 201 ...

We study the critical O(3) model using the numerical conformal bootstrap. In particular, we use a recently developed cutting-surface algorithm to efficiently map out the allowed space of conformal field theory data from correlators involving the leading O( ...

In [1], logarithmic correction to subleading soft photon and soft graviton theorems have been derived in four spacetime dimensions from the ratio of IR-finite S-matrices. This has been achieved after factoring out IR-divergent components from the tradition ...

This thesis is centered on questions coming from Machine Learning (ML) and Statistical Field Theory (SFT). In Machine Learning, we consider the subfield of Supervised Learning (SL), and in particular regression tasks where one tries to find a regressor tha ...

X-ray magnetic circular dichroism, atomic multiplet simulations, and density functional theory calculations are employed to identify criteria for the optimum combination of supporting alkaline earth oxide and adsorption site maximizing the spin lifetimes o ...

We use Mellin space dispersion relations together with Polyakov conditions to derive a family of sum rules for Conformal Field Theories (CFTs). The defining property of these sum rules is suppression of the contribution of the double twist operators. First ...

Recent advances in ultrafast pump-probe spectroscopy provide access to hidden phases of correlated matter, including light-induced superconducting states. The theoretical understanding of these nonequilibrium phases remains limited, particularly for correl ...

We perform a numerical bootstrap study of the mixed correlator system containing the half-BPS operators of dimension two and three in N = 4 Super Yang-Mills. This setup improves on previous works in the literature that only considered single correlators of ...
