We present a novel implementation strategy for distributed autoregressive moving average (ARMA) graph filters. Differently from the state of the art implementation, the proposed approach has the following benefits: (i) the designed filter coefficients come ...

Airborne Laser Scanning is a well-known remote sensing technology, which provides a dense and highly accurate, yet unorganized point cloud of earth surface. During the last decade, extracting information from the data generated by airborne LiDAR systems ha ...

This research presents a high-speed hardware platform dedicated to emulate electrical power networks for the fault location. The solution implements an algorithm based on the Electromagnetic Time-Reversal (EMTR) principle, which allows locating faults in v ...

This paper presents two W-band waveguide bandpass filters, one fabricated using laser micromachining and the other 3-D printing. Both filters are based on coupled resonators and are designed to have a Chebyshev response. The first filter is for laser micro ...

With the emergence of the new global navigation satellite systems (GNSSs) such as Galileo, COMPASS and GLONASS, the US Global Positioning System (GPS) has new competitors. This multiplicity of constellations will offer new services and a much better satell ...

A 4 th order Gm-C elliptic low-pass filter with a wide continuous tuning range is presented. The continuous tuning is achieved by means of a new tuning circuit which adjusts the bias current of the Gm cell's input stage to control the cut-off frequency. Wi ...

The recent trend of an increasing share of renewable energy sources in modern power systems, as well as the integration of power electronics equipment, is shaping the requirements for stable grid infrastructure. These requirements mainly come from the stab ...

Optical frequency combs are a series of phase-locked and equidistant laser lines in the spectral domain. In the time domain, they correspond to periodic pulse trains by the Fourier relation. The ability to shape optical combs and pulse trains is pivotal to ...

We propose the concept, synthesis, analysis, and design of graphene-based plasmonic tunable low-pass filters operating in the terahertz band. The proposed structure is composed of a graphene strip transferred onto a dielectric and a set of polysilicon dc g ...

Streaming applications describe a broad class of computing algorithms in areas such as signal processing, media coding and compression, cryptography, video analytics, network touting and packet processing and many others. For many of these applications, pr ...

Auditory perception is an essential part of a robotic system in Human-Robot Interaction (HRI), and creating an artificial auditory perception system that is on par with human has been a long-standing goal for researchers. In fact, this is a challenging res ...

Dielectric breakdown etching is a well-known method of making nanopores on thin (similar to 50 nm) dielectric membranes. However, voltage driven translocation of biomolecules through such nanopores becomes extremely fast. For improved detection, for instan ...

The widespread usage of digital video surveillance systems has increased the concerns for privacy violation. Since video surveillance systems are invasive, it is a challenge to find an acceptable balance between privacy of the public under surveillance and ...

Stochastic Maximum Likelihood (SML) is a popular direction of arrival (DOA) estimation technique in array signal processing. It is a parametric method that jointly estimates signal and instrument noise by maximum likelihood, achieving excellent statistical ...

A method of estimating a value (311-313) indicative of a signal component of an input imaging dataset (190) includes determining a normalized Fourier-domain representation of the input imaging dataset (190); and for each one of multiple low-pass filters (3 ...

We present the first experimental realization of a light spectral filter based on the spatial adiabatic passage technique. We demonstrate that a fully integrable CMOS-compatible system of three coupled identical total internal reflection silicon oxide wave ...

We demonstrate soliton based radiofrequency filters using a 104 GHz Si3N4 microresonator. The filter passband frequencies are widely reconfigured via inherent soliton states of perfect soliton crystals and two-soliton microcombs, without any external pulse ...
