To improve the accuracy of bifacial gain estimation, recent radiative models of solar energy systems have abandoned the traditional assumption of isotropic ground-reflected radiance. However, surface reflectance itself is still commonly considered as a con ...

Simulations of plasma turbulence in a lower single-null magnetic configurations are presented. The plasma dynamics is modelled by the drift-reduced two-fluid Braginskii equations that are coupled with a kinetic model for a single neutral species that consi ...

Recent years have witnessed a rise in real-world data captured with rich structural information that can be better depicted by multi-relational or heterogeneous graphs. However, research on relational representation learning has so far mostly focused on th ...

This database is meant to evaluate the performance of denoising and delineation algorithms for PPG signals affected by noise. The noise generator allows applying the algorithms under test to an artificially corrupted reference PPG signal and comparing its ...

Understanding how people rate their confidence is critical for the characterization of a wide range of perceptual, memory, motor and cognitive processes. To enable the continued exploration of these processes, we created a large database of confidence stud ...

We present a general method for imputing missing information in the Worldwide Patent Statistical Database (PATSTAT) and make the resulting datasets publicly available. The PATSTAT database is the de facto standard for academic research using patent data. C ...

The regulation of several processes inside and outside the cell depends on the action of a particular class of enzymes, called allosteric. In allosteric macromolecules, binding a ligand at one site affects the binding activity at a distal functional site, ...

The thermal performance gap in buildings is defined as the difference between the theoretical and the actual energy consumption for heating, and is known to undermine energy retrofit strategies and policies. This study examines the performance gap in retro ...

The use of punching shear reinforcement is currently considered as one of the most convenient practices to enhance the punching shear strength and deformation capacity of slab-column connections in flat slabs. Intensive research has been performed in the l ...

Database workloads have significantly evolved in the past twenty years. Traditional database systems that are mainly used to serve Online Transactional Processing (OLTP) workloads evolved into specialized database systems that are optimized for particular ...

In this Letter, we demonstrate how harmonic oscillator equations can be integrated in a neural network to improve the spectral response prediction for an optical system. We use the optical properties of a one-dimensional nanoslit array for a practical impl ...

For the past two decades, linear free energy scaling relationships and volcano plots have seen frequent use as computational tools that aid in understanding and predicting the catalytic behavior of heterogeneous and electrocatalysts. Based on Sabatier's pr ...

This paper addresses the problem of face presentation attack detection using different image modalities. In particular, the usage of short wave infrared (SWIR) imaging is considered. Face presentation attack detection is performed using recent models based ...

A method for optimizing memory access for database operations is provided. The method may include identifying an access pattern associated with a database operation. The access pattern may include data required to perform the database operation. One or mor ...

Systems and methods are provided for that use noninvasively measured physiologic parameters to predict in real time noninvasively unobservable cardiovascular parameters by employing a one-dimensional arterial tree numerical model calibrated with representa ...
