Self-supervised learning (SSL) is a machine learning approach where the data itself provides supervision, eliminating the need for external labels. The model is forced to learn about the data's inherent structure or context by solving a pretext task. With ...

We study the renormalization group flow of unitary Quantum Field Theories on two-dimensional de Sitter (dS) spacetime. We prove the existence of two functions of the radius of dS that interpolate between the central charges of the UV and IR fixed points of ...

The Large Charge sector of Conformal Field Theory (CFT) can generically be described through a semiclassical expansion around a superfluid background. In this work, focussing on U(1) invariant Wilson-Fisher fixed points, we study the spectrum of spinning l ...

Quantum Field Theory(QFT) as one of the most promising frameworks to study high energy and condensed matter physics, has been mostly developed by perturbative methods. However, perturbative methods can only capture a small island of the space of QFTs. QFT ...

The quantification of uncertainties can be particularly challenging for problems requiring long-time integration as the structure of the random solution might considerably change over time. In this respect, dynamical low-rank approximation (DLRA) is very a ...

We study correlation functions involving generalized ANEC operators of the form integral dx-x-n+2T--x -> in four dimensions. We compute two, three, and ...

In this letter, we discuss certain universal predictions of the large charge expansion in conformal field theories with U (1) symmetry, mainly focusing on four-dimensional theories. We show that, while in three dimensions quantum fluctuations are responsib ...

Functional time series is a temporally ordered sequence of not necessarily independent random curves. While the statistical analysis of such data has been traditionally carried out under the assumption of completely observed functional data, it may well ha ...

Coupled dynamical systems are omnipresent in everyday life. In general, interactions between individual elements composing the system are captured by complex networks. The latter greatly impact the way coupled systems are functioning and evolving in time. ...

We consider Lorentzian CFT Wightman functions in momentum space. In particular, we derive a set of reference formulas for computing two- and three-point functions, restricting our attention to three-point functions where the middle operator (corresponding ...

Successful adaptation to complex environments depends on the balance of at least two systems: a flexible but slow goal-directed system encoding action-outcome associations and an efficient but rigid habitual system linking responses to preceding stimuli. R ...

The mechanical strength of metals depends on their resistance against various microscopic deformation processes. In ductile metals, the most important process is shearing of the crystal lattice by dislocations. One of the fundamental aspects of dislocation ...

Brown adipocytes regulate energy expenditure via mitochondrial uncoupling, which makes them attractive therapeutic targets to tackle obesity. However, the regulatory mechanisms underlying brown adipogenesis are still poorly understood. To address this, we ...

In cognition, audition, and somatosensation, performance strongly correlates between different paradigms, which suggests the existence of common factors. In contrast, visual performance in seemingly very similar tasks, such as visual and bisection acuity, ...

Hellerman et al. (arXiv:1505.01537) have shown that in a generic CFT the spectrum of operators carrying a large U(1) charge can be analyzed semiclassically in an expansion in inverse powers of the charge. The key is the operator state correspondence by whi ...

A large number of buildings in regions with low to medium seismic hazard have been designed without considering earthquake actions. Retrofitting of all buildings that fail to meet modern code requirements is economically, technically and environmentally un ...

We consider finite element error approximations of the steady incompressible Navier-Stokes equations defined on a randomly perturbed domain, the perturbation being small. Introducing a random mapping, these equations are transformed into PDEs on a fixed re ...

Under the paradigm of caching, partial data are delivered before the actual requests of users are known. In this paper, this problem is modeled as a canonical distributed source coding problem with side information, where the side information represents th ...

We present a study focused on pulses superimposed on the initial continuous current of upward negative discharges. The study is based on experimental data consisting of correlated lightning current waveforms recorded at the instrumented Santis Tower in Swi ...
