The relationship between age-related changes in brain structural connectivity (SC) and functional connectivity (FC) with cognition is not well understood. Furthermore, it is not clear whether cognition is represented via a similar spatial pattern of FC and ...

We present an end-to-end trainable Neural Network architecture for stereo imaging that jointly locates and estimates human body poses in 3D. Our method defines a 2D pose for each human in a stereo pair of images and uses a correlation layer with a composit ...

Decoding visual cognition from non-invasive measurements of brain activity has shown valuable applications. Vision-based Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI) systems extend from spellers to database search and spatial navigation. Despite the high performance of ...

Recent progress in electronics has allowed the construction of affordable mobile robots. This opens many new opportunities, in particular in the context of collective robotics. However, while several algorithms in this field require global localization, th ...

With the exponential growth of robotics and the fast development of their advanced cognitive and motor capabilities, one can start to envision humans and robots jointly working together in unstructured environments. Yet, for that to be possible, robots nee ...

In this paper we study the automatic synthesis of robotic controllers for the coordinated movement of multiple mobile robots. The algorithm used to learn the controllers is a noise-resistant version of Particle Swarm Optimization, which is applied in two d ...

Decision making and planning with partial state information is a problem faced by all forms of intelligent entities. The formulation of a problem under partial state information leads to an exorbitant set of choices with associated probabilistic outcomes m ...

Background The ability to follow one another's gaze plays an important role in our social cognition; especially when we synchronously perform tasks together. We investigate how gaze cues can improve performance in a simple coordination task (i.e., the mirr ...

The ability to move in complex environments is a fundamental requirement for robots to be a part of our daily lives. While in simple environments it is usually straightforward for human designers to foresee the different conditions a robot will be exposed ...

The issues in the energy-efficiency process have much interest in the automotive industry. The energy criteria are also important in machine selection as well as productivity when new equipment is introduced on a shop floor. Remote laser welding having ben ...
