In this Letter we demonstrate that what was previously considered as different mechanisms of baryon asymmetry generation involving two right-handed Majorana neutrinos with masses far below the Grand Unified Theory scale-leptogenesis via neutrino oscillatio ...

We study charmless hadronic decays of charged B mesons to the final states (KSKSK +/-)-K-0-K-0 and (KSKS0)-K-0 pi(+/-) using a 711 fb(-1) data sample that contains 772 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs and was collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Bel ...

The infiltration of a non-wetting liquid, such as molten metal, into a porous solid, such as a ceramic preform, is influenced by the wetting angle of the liquid on the solid. The link between local wetting and the minimum pressure required for initiation o ...

A measurement of the time-dependent CP-violating asymmetry in Bs0 ->phi phi = 7 TeV in 2011, 8 TeV in 2012 and 13 TeV in 2015 and 2016, a signal yield of around 9000 Bs0 ->phi phi decays is obtained. The CP-violating phase phi sss over bar is measured to b ...

In nanocrystalline diamond thin films, the high grain boundary density and the associated grain boundary properties may dominate the overall material behavior. In the present work, we systematically investigate (111) twist grain boundaries in diamond carbo ...

The branching fraction and direct CP asymmetry of the decay B +. J/.. + are measured using protonproton collision data collected with the LHCb detector at centre- of- mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 3 fb - 1. ...

A first search for CP violation in the Cabibbo-suppressed Xi(+)(c) -> pK(-) pi(+) decay is performed using both a binned and an unbinned model-independent technique in the Dalitz plot. The studies are based on a sample of protonproton collision data, corre ...

A time-dependent analysis of the B-s(0) -> phi gamma decay rate is performed to determine the CP -violating observables S-phi gamma and C-phi gamma and the mixing-induced observable A(phi gamma)(Delta). The measurement is based on a sample of pp collision ...

The difficulty of obtaining annotations to build training databases still slows down the adoption of recent deep learning approaches for biomedical image analysis. In this paper, we show that we can train a Deep Net to perform 3D volumetric delineation giv ...

.Asymmetries in the time-dependent rates of singly Cabibbo-suppressed D0K+K- and D0+- decays are measured in pp collision data sample collected with the LHCb detector during LHC Run 1, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1). The asymmetries ...

The parameter epsilon(K) describes CP violation in the neutral kaon system and is one of the most sensitive probes of new physics. The large uncertainties related to the charm-quark contribution to epsilon(K) have so far prevented a reliable standard-model ...

We report a measurement of time-dependent CP violation in B-0 -> K-S(0)pi(0)pi(0) decays using a data sample of 772 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs collected by the Belle experiment running at the (sic)(4S) resonance at the KEKB e(+)e(-) collider. This decay ...

We report measurements of isospin asymmetry Delta(0-) and difference of direct CP asymmetries Delta A(CP) between charged and neutral B -> X-s gamma decays. This analysis is based on the data sample containing 772 x 10(6)B (B) over bar pairs that was colle ...

Observations are reported of different sources of CP violation from an amplitude analysis of B+ -> pi(+)pi(+)pi(-) decays, based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1) of pp collisions recorded with the LHCb detector. A larg ...

The decay-time-dependent CP asymmetry in B-0 -> (DD -/+)-D-*+/- decays is mea- sured using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb(-1) recorded by the LHCb detector in proton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7, 8 and 13 ...

Conventional scenarios of electroweak (EW) baryogenesis are strongly constrained by experimental searches for CP violation beyond the SM. We propose an alternative scenario where the EW phase transition and baryogenesis occur at temperatures of the order o ...

The failure of frictional interfaces - the process of frictional rupture - is widely assumed to feature crack-like properties, with far-reaching implications for various disciplines, ranging from engineering tribology to earthquake physics. An important co ...

We search for CP violation in the singly-Cabibbo-suppressed decay D-0 -> K+K-pi(+)pi(-) using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 988 fb(-1) collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB e(+)e(-). We measure a set of five kinematically dependen ...

Predictive gait simulations currently do not account for environmental or internal noise. We describe a method to solve predictive simulations of human movements in a stochastic environment using a collocation method. The optimization is performed over mul ...

A search for charge-parity (CP) violation in D-0 -> K-K+ and D-0 -> pi(-)pi(+) decays is reported, using pp collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.9 fb(-1) collected at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV with the LHCb detector. The fl ...
