This study employs a Cohesive Zone Model to quantitatively evaluate the evolution of interfacial fracture parameters across various interface architectures. Employing the Material Extrusion (ME) type 3D printing method, sutural interfaces characterized by ...

The J–V bump and hysteresis in perovskite solar cells are studied combining measurement and simulation, linking them to spatial collection efficiency changes from ionic charge accumulation, as visualised in external quantum efficiency (EQE) spectra. ...

To constrain cosmological models beyond ACDM, the development of the Euclid analysis pipeline requires simulations that capture the non-linear phenomenology of such models. We present an overview of numerical methods and N-body simulation codes developed t ...

Phase separation of immiscible fluids is a common phenomenon in polymer chemistry, and is recognized as an important mechanism by which cells compartmentalize their biochemical reactions. Biomolecular condensates are condensed fluid droplets in cells that ...

The conception of epoxy thermosets with both reprocessability and flame retardancy delineates a new horizon in polymer science, offering a material solution that is not only superior in fire safety but is also environment friendly. Herein, a flame-retardan ...

The manuscript describes the development of a spatial Agent-based Simulation to model the effect of public policies on private houseowner’s decisions concerning their heating system. The methodology utilized comprises of an empirical survey to determine th ...

A carbon solution composed of nanoparticles was used in experiments designed to explore nanoparticle transport characteristics within the hyporheic zone of a riverbed. Experiments and numerical simulations demonstrated that nanoparticle transport in the hy ...

We use high-resolution tracer data from an experimental site to test theoretical approaches that integrate catchment-scale flow and transport processes in a unified framework centered on selective age sampling by streamflow and evapotranspiration fluxes. T ...

A new physically based model for the simulation of the imaginary part of the shear modulus-temperature (G ''-T) curve of thermosets is introduced in this paper. The model is based on the modification of the G ''-T equation used for thermoplastic polymers v ...

We discuss a recent theoretical approach combining catchment-scale flow and transport processes into a unified framework. The approach is designed to characterize the hydrochemistry of hydrologic systems and to meet the challenges posed by empirical eviden ...

Nanogranular metal composites, consisting of immiscible metallic and insulating phases deposited on a substrate, are characterized by two distinct electronic transport regimes depending on the relative amount of the metallic phase. At sufficiently large me ...

Melt electrowriting is a microscale manufacturing technique that uses polymer-based melts to create fibrous structures. An electric field is used to stabilize a continuous molten jet, which is then written onto a substrate as a microscale fiber. Herein, it ...

Travel times are fundamental catchment descriptors that blend key information about storage, geochemistry, flow pathways and sources of water into a coherent mathematical framework. Here we analyze travel time distributions (TTDs) (and related attributes) ...

The synthesis of high-performance gas-sieving zeolitic film is challenging because it involves seeded secondary growth which is complex and difficult to reproduce. Additionally, expensive asymmetric inorganic porous supports are often needed for calcinatio ...

The coil to globule transition is a fundamental phenomenon in the physics of macro-molecules by reason of the multiplicity of arrangements of their conformation. Such conformational freedom is the main source of entropy in the molecule and is the main oppo ...

Synthetic messenger RNA (mRNA)-based therapeutics have emerged as promising candidates for the prevention and treatment of a wide range of diseases and disorders. mRNA possesses notable advantages, including exceptional safety, the capacity to replace vari ...

A high penetration grade bitumen has been blended with up to 50 wt% of two different grades of metallocene catalyzed linear low density polyethylene (m-LLDPE) in order to investigate the potential of these and similar copolymers as a substitute for styrene ...

Most nanoparticles' parameters affect their interactions with cells. To date, all the parameters studied are basically static (e.g., size, shape, ligands, and charge). This is unfortunate, because proteins have struc-tural dynamics that most nanoparticles ...

This thesis explores different aspects of DNA topology through experimental and numerical techniques. Topology is a vast mathematical field, that deals with the spatial properties of objects undergoing continuous deformations, but here it is restricted to ...

The poor electronic conductivity of LiFePO4 has been one of the major issues impeding it from achieving high power and energy density lithium-ion batteries. In this communication, a novel polymer-wiring concept was proposed to improve the conduction of the ...
