Based on a data sample of (10087 ± 44) × 10 6 J / ψ events taken with the BESIII detector, we search for the flavor-changing neutral current charmonium decay J / ψ → D 0 μ + μ − + c.c. . No significant signal above the background is observed, and the upper ...

Based on (2712.4 ± 14.3) × 106ψ(3686) events collected at the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, we present the first observation of the decay ψ3686→K−Λ1520Ξ¯+ + c.c. The product branching fraction Bψ3686→K−Λ1520Ξ¯++c.c.×BΛ1520→pK− is measur ...

Based on 7.33 fb(-1) of e(+)e(-) collision data collected by the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider at center-of-mass energies from 4.128 to 4.226 GeV, a search for the Majorana neutrino nu(m) is conducted in the lepton-number-violating decay ...

This PhD thesis presents a search for Heavy Neutral Leptons (HNLs) using data collected by the CMS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). HNLs are hypothetical new particles proposed in several theoretical extensions of the Standard Model (SM) ...

Nuclear medium effects on (Formula presented) meson production are studied using the binary-collision scaled cross section ratio between events of different charged-particle multiplicities from proton-lead collisions. Data, collected by the CMS experiment ...

The absolute branching fraction of the decay Lambda(c)(2625)(+) -> Lambda(+)(c)pi(+)pi(-) is measured for the first time to be (50.2 +/- 5.7(stat) +/- 3.5(syst))% with 368.48 pb(-1) of e(+)e(-) collision data collected by the BESIII detector at the center- ...

A search for long-lived heavy neutral leptons (HNLs) is presented, which considers the hadronic final state and coupling scenarios involving all three lepton generations in the 2-20 GeV HNL mass range for the first time. Events comprising two leptons (elec ...

The J/psi -> mu(+)mu(-)mu(+)mu(-) decay has been observed with a statistical significance in excess of five standard deviations. The analysis is based on an event sample of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, collected by the CMS ...

Quantum support vector machines employ quantum circuits to define the kernel function. It has been shown that this approach offers a provable exponential speedup compared to any known classical algorithm for certain data sets. The training of such models c ...

An inclusive search for long-lived exotic particles (LLPs) decaying to final states with a pair of muons is presented. The search uses data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36.6 fb(-1) collected by the CMS experiment from the proton-proton coll ...

A search is presented for new Higgs bosons in proton-proton (pp) collision events in which a same-sign top quark pair is produced in association with a jet, via the pp -> tH/ A -> tt (c) over bar and pp -> tH/ A -> tt

The longitudinal polarization fraction of the D* meson is measured in B0→D*-τ+ντ decays, where the τ lepton decays to three charged pions and a neutrino, using proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8 ...

A measurement of the Higgs boson (H) production via vector boson fusion (VBF) and its decay into a bottom quark-antiquark pair (b (b) over bar) is presented using proton-proton collision data recorded by the CMS experiment at root s = 13TeV and correspondi ...

Kaon physics is at a turning point - while the rare-kaon experiments NA62 and KOTO are in full swing, the end of their lifetime is approaching and the future experimental landscape needs to be defined. With HIKE, KOTO-II and LHCb-Phase-II on the table and ...

The first observation of the concurrent production of two J/psi mesons in proton-nucleus collisions is presented. The analysis is based on a proton-lead (pPb) data sample recorded at a nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy of 8.16 TeV by the CMS experiment ...

Production cross sections of the standard model Higgs boson decaying to a pair of W bosons are measured in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The analysis targets Higgs bosons produced via gluon fusion, vector boson fusion, and ...

This thesis presents a search for a beyond the Standard Model (SM) heavy neutral lepton (HNL), which does not interact via any of the SM interactions. This hypothetical particle has been proposed by multiple theories as an extension to the SM, and it could ...

We report on a combined experimental and theoretical investigation of the N(D-2) + C6H6 (benzene) reaction, which is of relevance in the aromatic chemistry of the atmosphere of Titan. Experimentally, the reaction was studied (i) under single-collision cond ...

A study of anomalous couplings of the Higgs boson to vector bosons and fermions is presented. The data were recorded by the CMS experiment at a center-of-mass energy of pp collisions at the LHC of 13 TeV and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb ...

A search for the standard model (SM) Higgs boson (H) produced with transverse momentum (p(T)) greater than 450 GeV and decaying to a charm quark-antiquark (c (c) over bar) pair is presented. The search is performed using proton-proton collision data collec ...
