The helical magnetic structures of cubic chiral systems are well explained by the competition among Heisen-berg exchange, Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction, cubic anisotropy, and anisotropic exchange interaction (AEI). Recently, the role of the latter has ...

The extremely large magnetoresistance (XMR) observed in many topologically nontrivial and trivial semimetals has attracted much attention in relation to its underlying physical mechanism. In this paper, by combining the band structure and Fermi surface (FS ...

We report muon spin rotation and magnetic susceptibility experiments on in-plane stress effects on the static spin-stripe order and superconductivity in the cuprate system La2-xBaxCuO4 with x = 0.115. An extremely low uniaxial stress of similar to 0.1 GPa ...

In recent years, the notion of 'Quantum Materials' has emerged as a powerful unifying concept across diverse fields of science and engineering, from condensed-matter and coldatom physics to materials science and quantum computing. Beyond traditional quantu ...

In the Ca1-xLaxFeAs2 (1 1 2) family of pnictide superconductors, we have investigated a highly overdoped composition (x = 0.56), prepared by a high-pressure, high-temperature synthesis. Magnetic measurements show an antiferromagnetic transition at T-N = 12 ...

We have used exact numerical diagonalization to study the excitation spectrum and the dynamic spin correlations in the s = 1/2 next-next-nearest-neighbor Heisenberg antiferromagnet on the square lattice, with additional four-spin ring exchange from higher- ...

We propose an exact construction for atypical excited states of a class of nonintegrable quantum many-body Hamiltonians in one, two, and three dimensions that display area-law entanglement entropy. These examples of many-body "scar" states have, by design, ...

New advances in X-ray diffraction, extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS), and X-ray absorption near edge structure (XANES) using synchrotron radiation have now provided compelling evidence for a short-range charge density wave phase (CDW) called ...

We report on the temperature dependence of the ZrTe5 electronic properties, studied at equilibrium and out of equilibrium, by means of time and angle resolved photoelectron spectroscopy. Our results unveil the dependence of the electronic band structure ac ...

The aim of this work has been the investigation of homo-junction Tunnel Field Effect Transistors starting from a compact modelling perspective to its possible applications. Firstly a TCAD based simulation study is done to explain the main device characteri ...

Organic-inorganic lead halide perovskites have recently received significant attention as active materials for high-performance photovoltaics and photo-detectors. However, the understanding of their operation mechanism remains limited. High-gain, low-volta ...

Nonintentionally doped 200-nm-thick In0.16Al0.84N/n(+)-GaN samples were grown by metal-organic vapor phase epitaxy and used for the electrical characterization of InAlN. In the temperature range 180-400 K, the forward current of Schottky diodes is dominate ...

We have investigated the effect of Ca substitution for Sr site on structural, magnetic and superconducting properties of RuSr2-xCaxGd1.4Ce0.6Cu2O10-delta system. In this system, the magnetic coupling of RuO2 and CuO2 plays an important role in magnetic and ...

We simulate the t-J model in two dimensions by means of infinite projected entangled-pair states (iPEPS) generalized to arbitrary unit cells, finding results similar to those previously obtained by the density-matrix renormalization group (DMRG) for wide l ...

We consider the doped Rokhsar-Kivelson quantum dimer model on the triangular lattice with one mobile hole (monomer) at the Rokhsar-Kivelson point. The motion of the hole is described by two branches of excitations: the hole may either move with or without ...

In this paper we discuss the predictive analysis performed in support of the test program of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) Poloidal Field Conductor Insert (PFCI). A subset of the test program items was considered, with particu ...

The microstructural modifications due to irradiation in hcp pure metals and their consequences on the mechanical properties have been investigated. Experimental results for proton-irradiated pure polycrystalline titanium are presented and discussed. Sample ...
