In this article, a setup including a passive gas breakdown mitigation technique for satellite slip ring assemblies (SRAs) is introduced and tested. The setup features a central conducting ring, separated from two external conducting limiting discs (LDs) by ...

MCB11H12 (M: Li, Na) dodecahydro-monocarba-closo-dodecaborate salt compounds are known to have stellar superionic Li+ and Na+ conductivities in their high-temperature disordered phases, making them potentially appealing electrolytes in all-solid-state batt ...

We measured NMR and magnetic susceptibility for the quasi-two-dimensional, weakly XY-like, spin-1/2 square-lattice Heisenberg antiferromagnet [CuCl(pyz)(2)]BF4 (pyz = pyrazine = N2C4H4) near the critical temperature. The Neel temperature T-N and the order- ...

An active skull replacement system including an implant having an area A, an upper surface, and a bottom surface, adapted to be implanted at least in part into a skull of a subject so to substitute a portion of the skull, the bottom surface arranged to fac ...

Recently, the field of Metal-Insulator-Transition (MIT) materials has emerged as an unconventional solution for novel energy efficient electronic functions, such as steep slope subthermionic switches, neuromorphic hardware, reconfigurable radiofrequency fu ...

We report an experimental study of the emergence of nontrivial topological winding and long-range order across the paramagnetic-to-skyrmion lattice transition in the transition metal helimagnet MnSi. Combining measurements of the susceptibility with small- ...

We report on the coexistence of magnetic order and disorder in the atomically disordered double perovskites Ca2FeRuO6 and CaSrFeRuO6. Powder x-ray and neutron diffraction were used to investigate the crystal structure and magnetic ordering of these oxides. ...

A connector for providing both a fluidic and electrical connection is disclosed, said connector having a proximal end, a distal end and an elongated body in between, characterized in that the elongated body has an inner cavity spanning throughout its lengt ...

Nanowire (NW) semiconductors are interesting devices for being used as sensors. Such NWs are doped silicon channels with electrical contacts at both ends, which is a kind of the so-called junctionless (JL) device. However, in contrast with the state-of-the ...

The present invention concerns photoelectronic and/or optoelectronic learning device and/or memory device. In an embodiment, the device is a dye- sensitized solar cell. The short circuit photocurrent density (Jsc) of the device, and wherein a degree of a J ...

Today automotive industry is demanding more and more compact solutions for embedded electronics to be interfaced with vehicles components such as motor drivers, igniters and car communication buses. That is why Smart Power Integrated Circuits (IC) have bee ...

Bulk CMOS technologies left the semiconductor market to the novel device geometries such as FDSOI and FinFET below 30 nm, mainly due to their insufficient electrical characteristics arising from different physical limitations. These innovative solutions en ...

The performance of electronic and optoelectronic devices based on two-dimensional layered crystals, including graphene, semiconductors of the transition metal dichalcogenide family such as molybdenum disulphide (MoS2) and tungsten diselenide (WSe2), as wel ...

The term "spin caloritronics" defines a novel branch of spintronics that focuses on the interplay between electron spins with heat currents. In the frame of this research area, this thesis is aimed at investigating the effect of a heat current on magnetiza ...

Compared to the previous report on Cu3Bi(SeO3)(2)O2X (X = Cl, Br) [V. Gnezdilov et al., (arXiv: 1604.04249)], where no dielectric anomaly was observed without magnetic field near T-N similar to 25.6K, we further present the dielectric behaviors without and ...

In this paper we present the LegoPress, a simple and cost-effective robotic device intended to be used for leg-press movements in rehabilitation and training. Basic adjustments can be done on the sitting position so as to maximize comfort and adapt the pos ...
