The electron density close to the extraction grids and the co-extracted electrons represent a crucial issue when operating negative ion sources for fusion reactors. An excessive electron density in the plasma expansion region can indeed inhibit the negativ ...

The wireless sensor nodes used for monitoring the condition of grid equipment always be powered by disposable batteries. However, it introduces disadvantages, such as inconvenient replacement, short lifespan, and envi-ronmental pollution, significantly imp ...

n-linear impedance characteristics of VO2 offer solutions to highly sensitive radio-frequency (RF), millimeterwave (mm-wave), and terahertz (THz) detectors. We demonstrate high-speed broadband sensibility of miniaturized VO2 switches by utilizing the nonli ...

In this article, a cryo-CMOS receiver integrated with a frequency synthesizer for scalable multiplexed readout of qubits is presented, focusing on radio frequency (RF) reflectometry readout of silicon-based semiconductor spin qubits/quantum dots. The propo ...

Long Range (LoRa) is an emerging low-power wide-area network technology offering long-range wireless connectivity to Internet of Things (IoT) devices. For energy efficiency reasons, LoRa end nodes implement a nonslotted ALOHA multiple access scheme to tran ...

The purpose of this research has a background in the market for Internet of Things (IoT)devices and wireless sensor networks. The Market Forecast predicts the connection of a trillion"things" by 2025. The global smart sensor market size trend grows from US ...

LoRaWAN is a low-power wireless technology that provides long-range connectivity to battery-powered Internet of Things (IoT) devices. To minimize the energy consumption of the IoT nodes, LoRaWAN networks use for the uplink a pure non-slotted ALOHA multiple ...

Wireless sensor nodes (WSNs) are generally powered by batteries, which results in a substantial limitation to the places where the nodes can be installed, to the maximum number of deployable devices, and to the node lifetime. To meet the demand for Interne ...

Wireless communications are currently faced with two main challenges. The first challenge stems from the enormous number of Internet of Things (IoT) devices that transmit very small amounts of data. The second challenge is the need for ever-increasing data ...

In the Internet of Things (IoT) era, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are rapidly increasing in terms of relevance and pervasiveness thanks to their notable real-time monitoring performance across several fields, including industrial, domestic, military, bi ...

This paper presents three different techniques for efficiently powering an energy-autonomous wireless sensor (EAWS) through both energy harvesting (EH) and RF wireless power transfer (WPT). The aim of the paper is to provide effective strategies and techni ...

Asset tracking involving accurate location and transportation data is highly suited to wireless sensor networks (WSNs) featuring battery-less nodes that can be deployed in virtually any environment and require little or no maintenance. In response to the g ...

Wide-band-gap technologies enable ultra-high efficiencies in high-frequency power conversion. However, inadequate accuracies in electrical measurements could lead to spurious efficiency measurements, even above 100%. Furthermore, bandwidth limitations, par ...

Medical implant devices have found widespread application in recent years. The Super-Regenerative Receiver has been one preferred architecture due to its power advantage over other architectures. We present a detailed analysis of the circuits and their equ ...

Moving towards an increased understanding of the dynamic processes in the edge of tokamak plasmas requires continuous innovation in diagnostic capabilities, pushing the envelope in both spatial and temporal dimenstions. Plasma density and rotation, and the ...
