The present invention concerns a bodily implantable or probe device and microelectrode fabrication method comprising providing at least one silicon substrate including an electronic device or unit; providing, on a first side of the silicon substrate, at le ...

One of the most promising platforms for the realization of spin-based quantum computing are planar germanium quantum wells embedded between silicon-germanium barriers. To achieve comparably thin stacks with little surface roughness, this type of heterostru ...

Bandgap-tuneable mixed-halide 3D perovskites are of interest for multi-junction solar cells, but suffer from photoinduced spatial halide segregation. Mixed-halide 2D perovskites are more resistant to halide segregation and are promising coatings for 3D per ...

Dopant-free hole transporting materials (HTMs) is significant to the stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Here, we developed a novel star-shape arylamine HTM, termed Py-DB, with a pyrene core and carbon-carbon double bonds as the bridge units. Compa ...

This dataset accompanies the publication "Quantum-mechanical effects in photoluminescence from thin crystalline gold films" published in Light: Science & Applications (https://doi.org/10.1038/s41377-024-01408-2). The data can be used to reproduce plots 1-4 ...

Layered halide perovskites (LHPs) are emerging semiconductor materials due to their superior environmental stability compared to that of traditional halide perovskites. While LHPs have tunable optoelectronic properties, quantum and dielectric confinement e ...

Sensing and imaging of light in the shortwave infrared (SWIR) range is increasingly used in various fields, including bio-imaging, remote sensing, and semiconductor process control. SWIR-sensitive organic photodetectors (OPDs) are promising because organic ...

Surface passivation has been widely employed to suppress non-radiative charge recombination and prevent interfacial charge accumulation in perovskite photovoltaics. In this report, carbazole modified with ammonium iodide connected via alkyl chains of diffe ...

Dual-channel gate driver is commonly utilized in the industry for accommodating the widespread use of half-bridge power modules. As wide-bandgap devices become increasingly prevalent due to their superior switching characteristics compared with conventiona ...

This 5th annual "Emerging PV Report" highlights the latest advancements in the performance of emerging photovoltaic (e-PV) devices across various e-PV research areas, as documented in peer-reviewed articles published since August 2023. Updated graphs, tabl ...

Electro-optical photonic integrated circuits (PICs) based on lithium niobate (LiNbO3) have demonstrated the vast capabilities of materials with a high Pockels coefficient1,2. They enable linear and high-speed modulators operating at complementary metal–oxi ...

Perovskite solar modules (PSMs) show outstanding power conversion efficiencies (PCEs), but long-term operational stability remains problematic. We show that incorporating N,N-dimethylmethyleneiminium chloride into the perovskite precursor solution formed d ...

Luminescence constitutes a unique source of insight into hot carrier processes in metals, including those in plasmonic nanostructures used for sensing and energy applications. However, being weak in nature, metal luminescence remains poorly understood, its ...

This work aims to understand how nanocellulose (NC) processing can modify the key characteristics of NC films to align with the main requirements for high-performance optoelectronics. The performance of these devices relies heavily on the light transmittan ...

Since the dawn of humanity, human beings seeked to light their surroundings for their well-being, security and development. The efficiency of ancient lighting devices, e.g. oil lamps or candles, was in the order of 0.03-0.04% and jumped to 0.4-0.6% with th ...

Electric vehicles (EVs) currently dominate the sales in the automotive market. A big leap in this market can be made by developing a photovoltaic product that can be integrated to an EV, as it can boost the driving range of the EV while reducing the chargi ...

In the context of perovskite solar cells (PSCs), enhancing device performance often involves adding a small excess of lead iodide (PbI2) to the precursor solution. However, the presence of unreacted PbI2 can lead to accelerated degradation compromising lon ...

In this work, we demonstrate that GaN can be directly grown at high temperature on Si(111) substrates by metalorganic CVD without using any intentional AlN buffer, by simply employing a trimethylaluminum (TMAl) preflow. We found that n-GaN layers directly ...

Thin film aluminum nitride (AlN) stands out as a promising material for integrated photonics due to its wide bandgap of 6.1 eV, facilitating efficient operation across diverse spectral ranges. Its inherent electro-optic and nonlinear optical properties mak ...

Plasmonic photochemistry has a large potential to replace energy-intensive chemical processes with low-temperature, low-pressure light-driven chemical reactions. Plasmonic nanostructures have emerged as promising photocatalysts with exceptional and tunable ...
