A catalyst possessing a broad substrate scope, in terms of both turnover and enantioselectivity, is sometimes called "general". Despite their great utility in asymmetric synthesis, truly general catalysts are difficult or expensive to discover via traditio ...

An asymmetric synthesis of (+)-stephadiamine has been accomplished featuring (a) an enantioselective dearomatizative Michael addition to generate a quaternary stereocenter; (b) a domino sequence involving reductive generation of nitrone from γ-nitro ketone ...

The direct construction of stereogenic axes by enantioselective C-H arylation has been regarded as a very challenging transformation. Very few examples have been reported, despite the indisputable straight-forwardness of the methodology. This is due to the ...

We report herein the first examples of a palladiumcatalyzed enantioselective Cacchi reaction for the synthesis of indoles bearing a chiral C2-aryl axis. In the presence of a catalytic amount of Pd(OAc)2 and (R,R)-QuinoxP* ligand, reaction of N-aryl(alkyl)s ...

Recent Advances: Herein, we focus on the first step of this process, electrophile sensing. Electrophile sensing is typically a deceptively simple reaction between the thiol of a protein cysteine, of which there are around 200,000 in the human proteome, and ...

I present a molecular beam study of methane dissociation on differ-ent surface sites of several platinum single crystal surfaces (Pt(111), Pt(211), Pt(210), Pt(110)-(2x1)). The experiments were performed in a molecular beam/surface-science apparatus that c ...

The thesis describes a simple approach for N-formylation of amines with CO2 and hydrosilane reducing agents, the use of organic salts as N-formylation catalysts, their physical properties required for high catalytic activity and their role in the catalytic ...

An enantioselective synthesis of a putative lipiarmycin aglycon was accomplished and features: 1) Brown’s enantioselective alkoxyallylboration and allylation of aldehydes, 2) chain elongation by iterative Horner–Wadsworth– Emmons olefination, 3) Evans aldo ...

The reaction of propargyl amines with tert-butylisonitrile in the presence of a catalytic amount of both Yb(OTf)3 and AgOTf afforded imidazoles, whereas the same reaction with primary and secondary alkylisonitriles, as well as arylisonitriles, in the prese ...

(1R)-Normetanephrine is the natural stereoisomeric substrate for sulfotransferase 1A3 (SULT1A3)-catalyzed sulfonation. Nothing appears known on the enantioselectivity of the reaction despite its potential significance in the metabolism of adrenergic amines ...

Mix and go. The quinidine-amide (1)-catalyzed [2+2] cycloaddition between N-sulfonylimines (2) and alkyl 2,3-butadienoate (3) afforded the (R)-azetidines 4 in excellent yields and enantioselectivities. The (S)-enantiomer was obtained when a quinine-amide c ...

Triple selectivity: Highly substituted indenylamines can be obtained with high enantioselectivity by formal [3+2] additions of aryl ketimines with internal alkynes. These rhodium(I)-catalyzed processes proceed by selective C-H activation of one of the two ...

The base hydrolysis reaction of Co(NH3)5Cl2+ was investigated using density functional theory and molecular orbital methods. Geometries and energies of conjugate bases, intermediates, transition states, and minimum energy crossing points were computed. For ...

The montmorillonite-catalyzed reactions of the 5′-phosphorimidazolides of D, L-adenosine (D, L-ImpA) (Figure 1a. N = A, R = H) and D, L-uridine (Figure 1a., N = U, R = H) yields oligomers that were as long as 7 mers and 6 mers, respectively. The reactions ...

Nowadays any natural and non-natural monosaccharide can be prepared pure in both enantiomeric forms starting from inexpensive starting materials. Depending on the target, pure chemical procedures relying upon asymmetric catalysis using either metallic or p ...

The first part of this study consists in the investigation of the evaporation and the condensation rate of H2O in the presence of different types of ice in a low pressure flow reactor. The second part of the present work reports the study of chlorine activ ...

The principal objective of this thesis is the development of a palladium catalyst supported on woven fabrics of activated carbon fibers (ACF) for the reactions of hydrogenations in liquid phase and the design of multiphase reactors using the characteristic ...

The importance of catalysis in chemistry has not to be proved anymore. Be it homogeneous or heterogeneous catalysis, the constant progresses observed in that field proves its obvious interest. The asymmetric homogeneous catalysis is a method of choice to s ...

The present thesis work concerns the preparation and optionally site selective functionalization of five- and six-membered nitrogen heterocycles and the investigation of atropisomerism of α,o-bis(methoxymethyl)-1-phenylindole. Mono- and disubstituted 2-bro ...
