Plasma-activated water (PAW) is increasingly recognized for its bactericidal properties. To advance this technology toward practical applications and deepen the understanding of its mechanisms, it is crucial to study the storage stability of PAW, focusing ...

The need for sustainable and reliable decontamination methods is driven by concerns regarding antibiotic resistance, as well as environmental and cost -efficiency challenges associated with traditional methods. Plasmaactivated water (PAW) holds significant ...

Chip -scale optical frequency combs enable the generation of highly -coherent pulsed light at gigahertz-level repetition rates, with potential technological impact ranging from telecommunications to sensing and spectroscopy. In combination with techniques ...

Dual resonance Rubidium atomic clock requires a microwave resonator tuned to the frequency of the hyperfine transition of the Rubidium 87 isotope. The vapor cell containing the Rubidium atoms is placed within this resonator. In order to achieve a good cloc ...

Solving native structures of such large molecules, like biomolecules, is often challenging, particularly due to the potentially infinite number of non-covalent interactions with water. In this thesis, we report the use of cold ion gas-phase action spectros ...

Infrared (IR) spectroscopy and catalysis represent two of the most practically relevant topics in chemistry, but they are normally taught in separate contexts at the undergraduate level. Although IR spectroscopy is introduced to students as a tool for orga ...

Infrared spectroscopy (IR) is a staple structural elucidation and characterization technique because of its ability to identify functional groups and its ease of use. Interestingly, it allows the capture of electronic effects via their influence on the bon ...

The insulating rare-earth magnet LiY1-xHoxF4 has received great attention because a laboratory field applied perpendicular to its crystallographic c axis converts the low-energy electronic spin Hamiltonian into the (dilute) transverse field Ising model. Th ...

The Schiff-bases [N,N'-Bis(2-hydroxybenzylidene)-benzene-1,4-diamine (L-1), N,N'-Bis(5-bromo-2-hydroxybenzylidene)-benzene-1,4-diamine (L-2), N,N'-Bis(2-hydroxy-3-methoxy-benzylidene)-benzene-1,4-diamine (L-3), and N,N'-Bis(2-hydroxynaphthylidene)-benzene- ...

Here, we present new cryogenic infrared spectra of the (Imidazole) H-n(+) (n=1,2,3) ions. The data was obtained using helium tagging infrared predissociation spectroscopy. The new results were compared with the data obtained by Gerardi et al. (Chem. Phys. ...

The chemistry of divalent lanthanides has generated increasing interest in the past years due to their redox properties and unique reaction pathways. Notably, molecular complexes of low-valent lanthanides have been shown to be suitable one-electron reducta ...

The tremendous structural and isomeric diversity of lipids enables a wide range of their functions in nature but makes the identification of these biomolecules challenging. We distinguish and quantify isomeric lipids using cold ion UV fragmentation spectro ...

Incorporating extended pi-conjugated organic cations in layered lead halide perovskites is a recent trend promising to merge the fields of organic semiconductors and lead halide perovskites. Herein, we integrate benzodithiophene (BDT) into Ruddlesden–Poppe ...

Particulate matter (PM) pollution causes adverse health effects and millions of deaths each year. PM or aerosol, is difficult to characterize because of its wide range of particle sizes, constituents (various organic and inorganic compounds), concentration ...

Combining all the benefits of Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy in a chip scale spectroscopic sensor looks promising for mobile and wearable platform development. Dual-comb spectroscopy enables downconversion of optical absorption spectra into ...

Four new Schiff-bases have been synthesized from the 1:2 M condensation of 4,5,6,7-tetrahydrobenzothiazole-2,6-diamine with 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde (SL3), 5-Bromo-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde (SL2), 2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde (SL3) and 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehy ...

Since the invention of the pendulum clock by Christiaan Huygens in 1657, precision timekeepers have been regulated by oscillators. Although the pendulum is not an isochronous oscillator, its introduction as a time basis for clock regulation led to a signif ...

Bacterial resistance to conventional antibiotics is of major concern. Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) are considered excellent alternatives. Among them, D-cateslytin (D-Ctl, derivative of a host defense peptide) has shown high efficiency against a broad spec ...

Non-covalent interactions are ubiquitous in nature. The diversity and functionality of these interactions are employed by nature as a universal tool for building the molecular mechanism of life. Although weak, these interactions play a key role in both for ...

The optoelectronic properties of various carbon allotropes and nanomaterials have been well established, while the purely sp-hybridized carbyne remains synthetically inaccessible. Its properties have therefore frequently been extrapolated from those of def ...
