The faithful bidirectional quantum coherent conversion of microwave (5 GHz) and optical (193.5 THz) quantum states will become essential for future quantum networks. Due to their low transition frequency, qubit states are quickly destroyed at room temperat ...

The continued development of computational approaches to many-body ground-state problems in physics and chemistry calls for a consistent way to assess its overall progress. In this work, we introduce a metric of variational accuracy, the V-score, obtained ...

Rapid advances in quantum computing technology lead to an increasing need for software simulators that enable both algorithm design and the validation of results obtained from quantum hardware. This includes calculations that aim at probing regimes of quan ...

Quantum computing has made significant progress in recent years, with Google and IBM releasing quantum computers with 72 and 50 qubits, respectively. Google has also achieved quantum supremacy with its 54-qubit device, and IBM has announced the release of ...

As big strides were being made in many science fields in the 1970s and 80s, faster computation for solving problems in molecular biology, semiconductor technology, aeronautics, particle physics, etc., was at the forefront of research. Parallel and super-co ...

Factored form is a powerful multi-level representa- tion of a Boolean function that readily translates into an imple- mentation of the function in CMOS technology. In particular, the number of literals in a factored form correlates strongly with the number ...

A crucial milestone in the field of quantum simulation and computation is to demonstrate that a quantum device can perform a computation task that is classically intractable. A key question is to identify setups that can achieve such goal within current te ...

By supporting the access of multiple memory words at the same time, Bit-line Computing (BC) architectures allow the parallel execution of bit-wise operations in-memory. At the array periphery, arithmetic operations are then derived with little additional o ...

Quantum electronic circuits where the logic information is processed and stored in single flux quanta promise efficient computation in a performance/power metric, and thus are of utmost interest as possible replacement or enhancement of CMOS. Several elect ...

Electrostatically confined quantum dots in semiconductors hold the promise to achieve high scalability and reliability levels for practical implementation of solid-state qubits where the electrochemical potentials of each quantum dot can be independently c ...

Universal and fault-tolerant quantum computation is a promising new paradigm that may efficiently conquer difficult computation tasks beyond the reach of classical computation. It motivates the development of various quantum technologies. The rapid progres ...

Loading classical data into quantum registers is one of the most important primitives of quantum computing. While the complexity of preparing a generic quantum state is exponential in the number of qubits, in many practical tasks the state to prepare has a ...

In this work, we develop timing-driven CAD support for FPGA architectures with direct connections between LUTs. We do so by proposing an efficient ILP-based detailed placer, which moves a carefully selected subset of LUTs from their original positions, so ...

Many-body Green's functions encode all the properties and excitations of interacting electrons. While these are challenging to be evaluated accurately on a classical computer, recent efforts have been directed toward finding quantum algorithms that may pro ...

It's been a little more than 40 years since researchers first suggested exploiting quantum physics to build more powerful computers. During this time, we have seen the development of many quantum algorithms and significant technological advances to make th ...

Today, a large portion of mobile data traffic is consumed behind the shielding walls of buildings or in the Faraday cage of trains. This renders cellular network coverage from outdoor cell sites difficult. Indoor small cells and distributed antennas along ...

Quantum computing promises to revolutionize our lives, achieving unprecedented computational powers and unlocking new possibilities in drug discovery, chemical simulations and cryptography. The fundamental unit of computation of a quantum computer is the q ...

We offer the first security analysis of cache compression, a promising architectural technique that is likely to appear in future mainstream processors. We find that cache compression has novel security implications because the compressibility of a cache l ...
