We report the discovery of a complete Einstein ring around the elliptical galaxy NGC 6505, at z = 0.042. This is the first strong gravitational lens discovered in Euclid and the first in an NGC object from any survey. The combination of the low redshift of ...

Aims. With the next generation of large surveys poised to join the ranks of observational cosmology in the near future, it is important to explore their potential synergies and to maximize their scientific outcomes. In this study, we aim to investigate the ...

We present the survey design, implementation, and outlook for COSMOS-Web, a 255 hr treasury program conducted by the James Webb Space Telescope in its first cycle of observations. COSMOS-Web is a contiguous 0.54 deg² NIRCam imaging survey in four filters ( ...

Gravitational microlensing is a powerful tool for probing the inner structure of strongly lensed quasars and for constraining parameters of the stellar mass function of lens galaxies. This is achieved by analysing microlensing light curves between the mult ...

The cosmological information extracted from photometric surveys is most robust when multiple probes of the large scale structure of the Universe are used. Two of the most sensitive probes are the clustering of galaxies and the tangential shear of backgroun ...

Strong gravitational lensing provides a wealth of astrophysical information on the baryonic and dark matter content of galaxies. It also serves as a valuable cosmological probe by allowing us to measure the Hubble constant independently of other methods. T ...

We present spectroscopic confirmation of three new two-image gravitationally lensed quasars, compiled from existing strong lens and X-ray catalogues. Images of HSC J091843.27-022007.5 show a red galaxy with two blue point sources at either side, separated ...

Recent cosmic shear studies have reported discrepancies of up to 1 sigma on the parameter S-8 = sigma(8) root Omega(m)/0.3 between the analysis of shear power spectra and two-point correlation functions, derived from the same shear catalogues. It is not a ...

We present a lensed quasar search based on the variability of lens systems in the Hyper Suprime-Cam (HSC) transient survey. Starting from 101 353 variable objects with i-band photometry in the HSC transient survey, we used a variability-based lens search m ...

We present the lens mass model of the quadruply-imaged gravitationally lensed quasar WFI2033 - 4723, and perform a blind cosmographical analysis based on this system. Our analysis combines (1) time-delay measurements from 14 yr of data obtained by the COSm ...

We present a systematic search for wide-separation (with Einstein radius theta(E)greater than or similar to 1.5 ''), galaxy-scale strong lenses in the 30 000 deg(2) of the Pan-STARRS 3 pi survey on the Northern sky. With long time delays of a few days to w ...

Gravitationally lensed quasars are useful for studying astrophysics and cosmology, and enlarging the sample size of lensed quasars is important for multiple studies. In this work, we develop a lens search algorithm for four-image (quad) lensed quasars base ...

Forthcoming large photometric surveys for cosmology require precise and accurate photometric redshift (photo-z) measurements for the success of their main science objectives. However, to date, no method has been able to produce photo-zs at the required acc ...

Estimates of the Hubble constant from different cosmological probes produce discrepant results in the framework of the standard cosmological model. In order to assess whether this tension is coming from unaccounted systematic errors, or is hinting towards ...

We present constraints on extensions of the minimal cosmological models dominated by dark matter and dark energy, Lambda CDM and wCDM, by using a combined analysis of galaxy clustering and weak gravitational lensing from the first-year data of the Dark Ene ...

Flux ratio anomalies in strong gravitationally lensed quasars constitute a unique way to probe the abundance of non-luminous dark matter haloes, and hence the nature of dark matter. In this paper, we identify double-imaged quasars as a statistically effici ...

We map the lensing-inferred substructure in the first three clusters observed by the Hubble Space Telescope Frontier Fields (HSTFF) Initiative: Abell 2744 (z = 0.308), MACSJ 0416, (z = 0.396) and MACSJ 1149 (z = 0.543). Statistically resolving dark matter ...

We explore how assuming that mass traces light in strong gravitational lensing models can lead to systematic errors in the predicted position of multiple images. Using a model based on the galaxy cluster MACS J0416 (z = 0.397) from the Hubble Frontier Fiel ...

Mass calibration uncertainty is the largest systematic effect for using clusters of galaxies to constrain cosmological parameters. We present weak lensing mass measurements from the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope Stripe 82 Survey for galaxy clusters select ...

The GRavitational lEnsing Accuracy Testing 3 (GREAT3) challenge is the third in a series of image analysis challenges, with a goal of testing and facilitating the development of methods for analyzing astronomical images that will be used to measure weak gr ...
