Long Range (LoRa) is an emerging low-power wide-area network technology offering long-range wireless connectivity to Internet of Things (IoT) devices. For energy efficiency reasons, LoRa end nodes implement a nonslotted ALOHA multiple access scheme to tran ...

Coupling vibrational ion spectroscopy with highresolution ion mobility separation offers a promising approach for detailed analysis of biomolecules in the gas phase. Improvements in the ion mobility technology have made it possible to separate isomers with ...

The Ring Learning with Errors (RLWE) problem has become one of the most widely used cryptographic assumptions for the construction of modern cryptographic primitives. Most of these solutions make use of power-of-two cyclotomic rings mainly due to its simpl ...

Wireless communications are currently faced with two main challenges. The first challenge stems from the enormous number of Internet of Things (IoT) devices that transmit very small amounts of data. The second challenge is the need for ever-increasing data ...

Medical implant devices have found widespread application in recent years. The Super-Regenerative Receiver has been one preferred architecture due to its power advantage over other architectures. We present a detailed analysis of the circuits and their equ ...

The WiseSkin project aims to provide a non-invasive solution for restoration of a natural sense of touch to persons using prosthetic limbs. By embedding sensor nodes into the silicone coating of the prosthesis, which acts as a sensory skin, WiseSkin target ...

Conventional input/output (IO) links consume power, independent of changes in the bandwidth demand by the system they are deployed in. As the system is designed to satisfy the peak bandwidth demand, most of the time the IO links are idle but still consumin ...

The prototypical signal processing pipeline can be divided into four blocks. Representation of the signal in a basis suitable for processing. Enhancement of the meaningful part of the signal and noise reduction. Estimation of important statistical properti ...

The Hadamard product features prominently in tensor-based algorithms in scientific computing and data analysis. Due to its tendency to significantly increase ranks, the Hadamard product can represent a major computational obstacle in algorithms based on lo ...

In this paper, we show that the Hadamard matrix acts as an extractor over the reals of the Renyi Information Dimension (RID), in an analogous way to how it acts as an extractor of the discrete entropy over finite fields. More precisely, we prove that the R ...

While wireless communication has become an ubiquitous part of our daily life and the world around us, it has not been able yet to deliver the multi-gigabit throughput required for applications like high-definition video transmission or cellular backhaul co ...

In this paper, we design a new iterative low-complexity algorithm for computing the Walsh-Hadamard transform (WHT) of an N dimensional signal with a K-sparse WHT. We suppose that N is a power of two and K = O(N^α), scales sub-linearly in N for some α ∈ (0, ...

A computer-implemented method for determining the Walsh-Hadamard transform of N samples of a signal, comprises electing a plurality of hashing C matrices Σ1, . . . ΣC, computing C hashes of a particular length based at least on a hashing front end and the ...

Hardware imperfections can significantly reduce the performance of full-duplex wireless systems by introducing non-idealities and random effects that make it challenging to fully suppress self-interference. Previous research has mostly focused on analysing ...

A new iterative low complexity algorithm has been presented for computing the Walsh-Hadamard transform (WHT) of an N dimensional signal with a K-sparse WHT, where N is a power of two and K = O(N^α), scales sub- linearly in N for some 0 < α < 1. Assuming a ...

In this paper, we study delivery of two nested message sets over combination networks with an arbitrary number of receivers, where a subset of receivers (public receivers) demand only the lower priority message and a subset of receivers (private receivers) ...

Finding theoretical limits on the performance of communication systems and designing schemes to achieve them is one of the fundamental questions in information theory. While the theory of point-to-point communication is well-investigated, most problems hav ...

A model called the linear transform network (LTN) is proposed to analyze the compression and estimation of correlated signals transmitted over directed acyclic graphs (DAGs). An LTN is a DAG network with multiple source and receiver nodes. Source nodes tra ...

The principle of wireless communications originates from the need to communicate between two points separated by a distance sufficiently large to prevent the use of wires. This article talks about modern receivers in which the basic building blocks of mode ...

This paper describes a receiver system design for impulse-radio ultra-wideband (IR-UWB) that operates at two carrier frequencies-3.494 and 3.993 GHz-with a 10-Mbps data rate. To reduce the power consumption of the front-end amplifiers, a super-regenerative ...
