The expectation value of a smooth conformal line defect in a CFT is a conformal invariant functional of its path in space-time. For example, in large N holographic theories, these fundamental observables are dual to the open-string partition function in Ad ...

We study applications of spectral positivity and the averaged null energy condition (ANEC) to renormalization group (RG) flows in two-dimensional quantum field theory. We find a succinct new proof of the Zamolodchikov c-theorem, and derive further independ ...

We prove that in any unitary CFT, a twist gap in the spectrum of operator product expansion (OPE) of identical scalar quasiprimary operators (i.e. phi x phi) implies the existence of a family of quasiprimary operators O t,l with spins l ->.infinity and twi ...

We use the S-matrix bootstrap to carve out the space of unitary, analytic, crossing symmetric and supersymmetric graviton scattering amplitudes in nine, ten and eleven dimensions. We extend and improve the numerical methods of our previous work in ten dime ...

In this thesis we study how physical principles imposed on the S-matrix, such as Lorentz invariance, unitarity, crossing symmetry and analyticity constrain quantum field theories at the nonperturbative level. We start with a pedagogical introduction to the ...

We review unitarity and crossing constraints on scattering amplitudes for particles with spin in four dimensional quantum field theories. As an application we study two to two scattering of neutral spin 1/2 fermions in detail. Assuming Mandelstam analytici ...

Critical statistical mechanics and Conformal Field Theory (CFT) are conjecturally connected since the seminal work of Beliavin et al. (Nucl Phys B 241(2):333-380, 1984). Both exhibit exactly solvable structures in two dimensions. A long-standing question ( ...

Conformal Field Theories (CFTs) are crucial for our understanding of Quantum Field Theory (QFT). Because of their powerful symmetry properties, they play the role of signposts in the space of QFTs. Any method that gives us information about their structure ...

We consider distributed optimization over several devices, each sending incremental model updates to a central server. This setting is considered, for instance, in federated learning. Various schemes have been designed to compress the model updates in orde ...

Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) will construct a large and precise three-dimensional map of our Universe. The survey effective volume reaches similar to 20 h(-3) Gpc(3). It is a great challenge to prepare high-resolution simulations with a much ...

We investigate the classical chiral Ashkin-Teller model on a square lattice with the corner transfer matrix renormalization group algorithm. We show that the melting of the period-4 phase in the presence of a chiral perturbation takes different forms depen ...

We prove that every Schwartz function in Euclidean space can be completely recovered given only its restrictions and the restrictions of its Fourier transform to all origin-centered spheres whose radii are square roots of integers. In particular, the only ...

Quantum Field Theory(QFT) as one of the most promising frameworks to study high energy and condensed matter physics, has been mostly developed by perturbative methods. However, perturbative methods can only capture a small island of the space of QFTs. QFT ...

Conformal field theory lies at the heart of two central topics in theoretical high energy physics: the study of quantum gravity and the mapping of quantum field theories through the renormalization group. In this thesis we explore a technique to study conf ...

We use Mellin space dispersion relations together with Polyakov conditions to derive a family of sum rules for Conformal Field Theories (CFTs). The defining property of these sum rules is suppression of the contribution of the double twist operators. First ...

In this letter, we discuss certain universal predictions of the large charge expansion in conformal field theories with U (1) symmetry, mainly focusing on four-dimensional theories. We show that, while in three dimensions quantum fluctuations are responsib ...

It is well established that the O(N) Wilson-Fisher (WF) CFT sits at a kink of the numerical bounds from bootstrapping four point function of O(N) vector. Moving away from the WF kinks, there indeed exists another family of kinks (dubbed non-WF kinks) on th ...

We use Lightcone Conformal Truncation to analyze the RG flow of the two-dimensional supersymmetric Gross-Neveu-Yukawa theory, i.e. the theory of a real scalar superfield with a DOUBLE-STRUCK CAPITAL Z(2)-symmetric cubic superpotential, aka the 2d Wess-Zumi ...

In recent work, methods from the theory of modular forms were used to obtain Fourier uniqueness results in several key dimensions (d = 1, 8, 24), in which a function could be uniquely reconstructed from the values of it and its Fourier transform on a discr ...

We introduce the analog of Kramers-Kronig dispersion relations for correlators of four scalar operators in an arbitrary conformal field theory. The correlator is expressed as an integral over its "absorptive part", defined as a double discontinuity, times ...
